Made it to Platinum rank in online but since I've been on constant losing streaks. Everyone seems to know how to block all my moves and such. How do I git gud?

Lol the game isn't filled with cheaters just because they can block your offense. It probably means your offense is basic af and easily punished by anyone who knows how to actually defend. You probably need to develop better mixes and use safer moves in neutral.

This is just what fighting games have always been like. Once you get to a certain level you have to stop playing it as a game of cause and effect and start thinking of it as HFT stock market gambling

If you really are posting in good faith and actively looking at trying to get better, tell us who you main and which match ups you are having difficulty with and we'll be able to give you some tips on how to beat them.

New players are never forced to learn the game under the game until they hit a wall like this and assume the game is broken because the in game tutorials taught them that all they needed to know was how to do one button DPs

Every time they they to introduce an "accessibility" gimmick it always ends up pointless. Fighting games are a mental and psychological thing above all else.

I feel fucking called out XD

I play modern Zangief for a number of reasons:

A) Grapplers make me laugh
B) I cant 360/720 for shit so 1 button SPDs are a godsend
C) Potemkin mod

But the main reason is that I dont want to learn the game since I like kusoge fast-paced anime fighters and am waiting for UNI, Project L, and Granblue.

Still though, I cant deny how fun it is to just mash super during my opponents blockstring so the instant theres a gap they get level 3d lol

If your stuff is consistently getting blocked, you probably have to change up your mixups so that people won't be able to correctly guess how they need to block.

SF6 is also kind of a difficult game to be good at even with a lot of pro players considering how many things you have to watch out for. So don't feel bad if you get losing streaks.

Modern Gieg is fucked. It's not crazy strong or anything, but getting SBD'd out of nowhere is so wrong.

And yet new players still don't care about neutral etc. because the game never asks them to. Tutorials tell them how to do one button specials and then just expect them to learn fundamentals on their own. They're still not playing the game and there's still zero resources in-game telling them about it. They still have to go online and read explanations from veterans laced with lingo, which is the exact same point new players were at before this trend of trying to simplify controls.

It's weird, I really like SF, but I suck even against the computer. Wouldn't even dream of fighting real people. I still use the classic controls because it's what I'm used to. I just can't get the hang of combos and all the different mechanics and I get blocked all the time.

I'm almost in Diamond (Plat 5) with Manon and Juri is a better character in almost every way. Manon is pretty squarely low tier, and I say that knowing I fucking love her and have close to 90 hours on her.

So, what's good to know is that Juri has pretty much every tool you need to excel. She's definitely not a character who's kit holds her back. If you're really having trouble with "everyone" it's just your fundamentals that are lacking. Treat your progression granularly.

For example, next game you play, don't jump. Ever. Play the whole game strictly with grounded footsies.

Then, for another game, look for a jump and always punish it with a pinwheel. Jumps are usually pretty easy to react to and training yourself to anti-air will make you quantifiably better than the average player.

You learn a little bit with every game you play. Plat is where the the actual good players with game sense get weeded out from the people that got there with gimmicks. For example, I placed Plat 1 and my entire gameplan during placements was Drive Impact command grab. Got me through 8 placement wins and Plat 1. But since I'm trash and got there with gimmicks, I was swiftly knocked back to gold, where I loitered for weeks. Only just now, within the last week, did I really tweak my game plan and actually play the neutral lol.
