We saw it already in Texas where student IDs to state universities don't work, but CCW permits do.
I would love to see the reaction if that target group just all got CCWs. Just how much "not like that" energy would be produced?

It would be amazing if republicans/trump galvanized the 25 and under crowd to vote.

I feel like more and more it's becoming harder to ignore just how much politics affects your everyday life now. Maybe 15 years ago, you could turn a blind eye to it, but now seeing politicians attack your mother, sister, daughter, cousin, and so on, people are opening their eyes and realizing they need to actually contribute to removing these people.

I remember during the 2020 BLM Demonstrations, there was a mural chalked onto a street that some of the activists stood watch over with assault rifles and suddenly the 2nd Amendment folks didn't like it

Even the NRA absolutely hated it when the Black Panthers started to open-carry, which led to some of the strictist gun laws being passed in California.

Yup.

The hate is all in the open now and republicans have replaced policy with that hate almost entirely.

They throw red meat down for the base but everyone else is vegetarian.

You'll be shocked to learn that the "Vote YES" ads had nothing to do with changing the constitution, and everything to do with drag queens and genital mutilation. They literally showed footage of drag queen story hour in their "Vote YES to save the children" ads. I'm not surprised that a lot of low information voters fell for it

I mean, the fact that it starts with "out of state interests want to blah blah blah" is fucking insane since it was out of state groups pushing for the bill

I live in Minnesota and I nonstop read shit from people who live in the sticks showing this map and wondering how can Democrats possibly control the state government.

Heres how: 70% of the states population live in the counties shaded in blue. Its not that hard to figure out.

If there's one thing I've learned from living with Republicans all these years, it's that they simply can't function without an excuse to bitch about the government: if a Democrat's in office they're of course bitching about the country going to hell (usually as the delayed result of his Republican predecessor's short-sighted policies), and if a Republican's in office they're bitching that the country's going to hell because no one's getting in line behind him and the media's being mean to him (and not, of course, because he's an ineffectual moron).

But under normal circumstances, they just enjoy the misery-loves-company style bitching and aren't actually motivated to action, because due to a hard fact that is wholly unfathomable to them, the government isn't actually oppressing them in any measurable way. Which is why I'm fairly confident that the current cult fervor will die with Trump.

It's not that bad, we know that the US states are very different.

We know about the dems and the reps, or most of the westcoast and eastcoast vs. Texas and Florida stuff.

It's more complicated when it's about other states.

For example, I have no idea if Missouri is red or blue without checking it first.

We also know about stuff like the bible belt, but I have no idea which states are supposed to be in it. Except Texas and Florida. It's always Texas and Florida.
