Only just learned about it now. Someone found a screener disc from 2014, ripped the audio track and uploaded it to a file-sharing site. Then a user named john_metroid uploaded it to the Internet Archive.

This thing has been a white whale for years. It was shown at a handful of anime conventions in 2014, but Studio Khara were unhappy with the crowd reactions and they scrapped it. It took them three years to come out with a dub for the movie, and it was pretty clunky. Keep in mind, Studio Khara then decided to scrap the Funimation voice cast entirely and abstain from using the original ADV voice cast for the Netflix release, using the same localiser from 3.33 to re-localize the entire show and recasting everyone. One of the reasons we got the Amazon Prime Video release of the Rebuild movies with a bunch of the returning 90's cast might have been Amazon themselves working out a deal.

And that all started with the 2014 Evangelion 3.33 Funimation dub, shown a short handful of times before disappearing forever and being replaced. And now here it is. It exists.
