It makes no more or less sense than any other name.

Besides, you know, Musk's nonsense.

I dunno, maybe it's just the number of syllables or the fact that "Mac" (or "Mc", as it were) is typically associated with surnames.

I definitely believe it was a last name that gradually evolved into a given name (that happens sometimes, my dad has been able to observe it through genealogical studies and can definitively say certain people with a specific first name can be related).

its weird to me how its like a unisex name. knew a dude with that name in middle school but seen women with that name too.

and they always are funny little awkward goobers too despite what sex they are

Yeah, wtf is up with that. I naturally read it as E-lon, however I've heard people pronounce it as L-on

It does give us the cute girl's nickname "Kenzie" but then I could just as soon see myself naming them that outright.

Mac and Mc mean "son of", so it's perfectly appropriate for people who are sons, especially if they have an ancestor named Kenzie.

I think you're focusing too much on "Mac" being a part of the name. It's no worse than names like Macaela or Macaulay

I knew he gave his kids fucked up names, I didn't realize he literally named one "X", I'm starting to think he may have some sort of mental illness related to this "x" obsession.

He does, yes. He's a perpetual teenager who thinks they are super edgy.

People turn surnames into first names all the time, this is no different. Addison, Hunter, Hudson... the list goes on. Similarly syllables aren't anything more a number (Alexander, for instance, has more) and Mac versus Mc is just spelling (heck, my name almost never gets spelled right by other people due to just how many variants there are).
