which is weird since i loved tiny toons
it just felt every episode premise was the same, some famous or serious figure, the animaniacs would shown up and just incessantly annoy them...it was really off putting to me

It was appointment television for me in college. I would get out of class and hurry back to my apartment to watch

i also never really liked the tom and jerry episodes where tom would be minding his own business trying to accomplish something and jerry saw him trying to score with a hot cat or just enjoy life and try to fuck it up. i think there was an episode of tom playing pool and did absolutely nothing to antagonize jerry but jerry was a dick to him for no reason

i liked the ensemble cast of tiny toons more. pinky and the brain did nothing for me. there could be entire episodes of tiny toons that focused on side characters like elmrya and her weird family that were strangely entertaining

I loved it, but anything that wasnt the main three or pinky and the brain really was hit or miss. The hippos were usually just awful

Tiny Toons on the other hand was the gold standard imo

Still both were pretty big parts of my childhood. I really should check out the revival

thanks for reminding me i also hated how the short one had this terrible ringo impersonation. i dont know why ive always hated his voice. also i see this joke pop up online to demonstrate how adult and racy the show was , but its just a really far reaching pun to me, i dont really laugh at jokes that have to reach that hard.

like this is one of those things where i know im definitely in the minority but i just dont see the appeal of this show

i did find slappy squirrel oddly attractive as a kid though

Pinky and The Brain was the shit, the rest of it was kind of meh.

I liked it as a kid, but it hasn't held up for me to want to watch it again. This is unlike the majority of cartoons I loved as a kid.

Obviously it's what I grew up with and I can't imagine it any other way, but I just can't look back on any of my favorite Wakko bits and picture them landing without the Ringo accent. It was just an extra layer of delightful silliness.

it also gave off some of that bonkers cartoon show vibes thats riffing hard off that toons are real dynamic against serious people that roger rabbit pioneered, but that doesnt work when everything is animated. theres no contrast when the "real" people or supposed non toons are animated too

I thought the standalone show was kind of boring. Then when they added Elmyra, it was even worse.

Much like any sketch-based variety show, animated or not, it varied in quality from episode to episode, bit to bit.

Sometimes it was hilarious, sometimes it was just... not. Lol

I had cable as a kid so I didnt really watch WB. Rocko and friends on Nickelodeon were all I needed.

I loved Animaniacs so damn much. I literally had about 20+ different Animaniac/Pinky & the Brain shirts. Almost every weekend I would go to the mall and check out Spencer's for at least one new shirt.

I absolutely loved it, but I can understand why some don't. Going back to watching the episodes, anytime it was the main 3 or Pinky and the Brain, there was at least consistency in getting a laugh out of me. When it was the other shows, they're either hits or BIG misses.

Of the ensemble WB cartoons, I actually liked Histeria the best (outside of the baby with the shitty diaper; they really could have left that out) and Tiny Toons was great too, but Animaniacs was generally pretty amusing, even if it didn't "hit" as often as the others.

never even heard of histeria. i loved freakazoid too and that kind of falls under that category.

I liked Tiny Toons better too. As kid I felt so bad for Fifi the Skunk. No one liked her , she was once kiddnapped by fucking Elmara, and she was homeless. Like what they fuck. I also liked Plucky. I didn't like the rabbits.

As for Jerry.. Fuck Jerry he was a damn hater.

fifi kind of awakened some shit inside me as a kid. her voice and then shed get all huggy with people i dunno. she probably created a lot of furries. actually suprised im not a furry in hindsight with all these cartoon animal crushes i had as a kid. looking back on it im thinking wtf did i see in slappy squirrel? musta been the voice i guess

I liked Animaniacs as much as Looney Tunes. I had already watched a lot of Simpsons when it debuted, so I was able to recognize how clever the writing was at that age.

Anywho I too liked Tiny Toons . I did not like the Rabbits. They came off as too perfect. Everything going to work out for us since we are the main characters. I like Plucky since he was just funny to me, and I always felt bad for Fifi, since was homeless and no one liked her. And she was even kidnapped by Elmara once.

my cousins always quoted the episode where plucky is a toddler and flushes things down the toilet ( down the hole) i never liked that episode for some reason. i didnt like baby/toddler humor as a kid (rugrats was tolerable though for some reason)

I loved watching Slappy Squirrel. Every time she just tries to enjoy her retirement, they keep bringing her back in.

Yeah, of all the "one gag" characters, they were the ones who didn't really work...ever. "Mindy and Buttons," "Chicken Boo," and "Randy Beamon Stories" were all consistently amusing despite always knowing where the joke would end. The Hippos' girth being a disability just wasn't funny.

I only remember maybe two of them. They were basically just long ballet dance numbers with minimal dialogue and...they were heavy and landed on the ground hard.

Histeria was a bunch of kids that learned about history. There was Loud Kiddington (who always yelled) and his dog Fetch (who looked suspiciously like Hunter from Road Rovers), Charity Bazaar, among others.

The main trio was good (though Dot's catchphrase wore out its welcome pretty quickly) but some of the side sketches were awful. Mindy & Buttons along with Goodfeathers were the epitome of comedy hackary.

That was just bad, like the only joke was fat joke and they had to do stupid stuff to make those. Like why in the world would anyone put pipes right Infront of a door. People of any size could get hurt by those.

Marita's voice was also goddamn annoying, and might be the worst character voice of Tress MacNeille's 40+ year VA career. Guess she really wanted to do something different from Dot.
