Voted no because my opinion of Goku was always low.

Dude would sacrifice his own children if it meant he could get a good fight.

Goku was never some selfless hero, Super was by the authors own admission a correction to the anime team trying to shoehorn Goku being some hero despite his actions in DBZ clearly showing he was no selfless hero.

yeah like, this is a 12-14 year old, DBS Goku is an almost middle aged grandpa

Super was the Goku show, with Goku around the whole time why does anyone even bother? Z had the brains to keep him out of the fray most of the time.

My opinion of Goku was already as low as it could go. The guy is a psychopath and responsible for at least half of the bad things that happen in the series. The english dub really does a disservice by trying to make him heroic.

I agree. His son Gohan better fits the selfless hero description even if he's not the strongest. Who occasionally dons a superhero costume and goes out fighting crime.

Toriyama himself said that Goku isn't supposed to be a selfless hero, he said he is just a guy looking for stronger opponents. Obviously there are some heroic actions and dialogue sprinkled in, here and there, but "hero" Goku has always been an anime/Toei thing.

Super Goku is that, but also just stupid now, instead of innocent naivet.

Really wish Super had anything close to resembling the stretch from 23rd budokai to the end of Frieza. Instead of one off story/arcs, and onto something else.
