I thought it was impossible! The guy talked to me and my mom on zoom and after talking to my mom for like half an hour he was like "yeah you need help" lol.

Yeah I found him on Craigslist he said he'd diagnose me and look at my moms dishwasher

ADHD doesnt just go away as you get older and its not just a kid thing. Glad youve been diagnosed and hopefully you can get the help you need to manage it.

Glad you figured it out, I've heard being diagnosed can be a real game changer for people.

Part of me has wondered if I am. There's a weird thing where I want to know, but would feel bad blaming parts of my personality on it. As well as being scared of the idea of me not being so, and then feeling worse. Kinda contradictory >_>.

Definitely a lot more accepted that ADHD doesn't just go away. There may be some cases where it just becomes more manageable, or you get used to the coping mechanisms and barely notice it.

You still hear stories of people seeing old fashioned doctors or C student Psychiatrists who believe any kind of weird shit like that adults can't have it or that it isn't even real, tho.

Yeah I was worried about him thinking that especially since my family has a history of substance abuse.

Thanks! Yeah my mom literally said "I just thought it was a kid thing". She really seemed to have swayed the guys opinion though since he was able to quickly decide.

Yeah I'm really fortunate to not have had to deal with people like that too much.
