Another tough draw for Apollo. I'll be giving him my vote, but I don't expect this to be pretty for him.

It's always good to see Gumshoe!

Gumshoe will finally get the raise he deserves. Soon, he'll upgrade from ramen to canned goods.

Gumshoe! Such a sweet guy who gets abused by pretty much the rest of the main cast. He may not be terrific at his job but he sure does try his hardest, and his heart is always in the right place. My #5 character in the series.

Since this is the first time I'm bringing up the term, for the OT strictly, I consider the "main cast" to be Phoenix, Maya, Edgeworth, Mia, Gumshoe, Pearl, Larry, Franziska, Godot, and the Judge.

What characters are left that wouldn't be tough draws for Apollo? He's just not that popular.

Out of the 16 that made it this far, I'd say he probably beats Ema and Franziska, maybe Naruhodo (since GAA still doesn't have as high of a playrate as the others) and Blackquill.

It's a shame because Apollo deserves better.

not looking promising so far

but honestly I expected it to look worse than this so maybe Apollo would beat more than I thought

we'll just have to wait for the X-Stats...!

I'm having a difficult time choosing.

The problem with Apollo is that he was the title character of a game where he was nothing more than a narrator - and it took until two games later for him to feel like a complete character. But when that payoff happens, BOY is it good.

Gumshoe, however, had a complete personality from the start, as he's partly there for comic relief. He's one of the best "lovable oaf" types I've encountered. And despite that archetype, he does have some character progression in ways other than personal growth, with the only problem being how poorly 4-4 treated him.

So I'm struggling with this. It's deciding between a character that takes too long to get going but is amazing when he does and one that's entertaining the whole way through.

Gumshoe becomes slightly Flanderized, Apollo gets better, so I voted for Polly.

But also I feel like Apollo is a bit of a grab bag of a character. Because he's kind of a nothing character in his own game, he's basically able to be whoever the writers want him to be in DD and SoJ. They do interesting stuff with him, but it's also a bit wacky. If there's an AA7, I'm sure the writers can ret-con in another interesting fact about his backstory.

Maybe one day we'll see Gumshoe again
