Ive gotten to the point where I prefer buying Blu-rays, ripping them, and hosting them on my NAS with Jellyfin et al to stream them, because I watch so little I spend way less in a year just buying media than I would pay subscribing to a couple of streaming services a month.

But at the same time, Im aware that Im already running a qbittorrent container and have a PIA subscription, so it would be fairly simple to setup containers for sonarr, radarr, prowlarr, etc, then a gluetun container to connect all of those to PIA, and I could just have a box that downloads and manages media for me by itself. And I have to ask myself if the increased quality of Blu-ray and my own rips and encodes is really worth the hassle.

400k a year is certainly enough to hire an expert to do something to his Internet so I his ISP will have a bitch of a time pinning anything on him.

As GabeN would say, piracy is all about availability.

When literally everything can be found on the same pirate site, it's way easier to access than having to worry about half a dozen different subscriptions.

I've purchased the LotR trilogy three different times and still prefer my pirated copies. Sometimes it's just way more convenient.
