Remember like 6 years ago when everyone thought he was gonna be Trump But Smart?

It's obvious that he already knows he'll never win the nomination, even if Trump is convicted and sentenced to prison. It seems like his only goal at this point is to make as many crazy right-wing non-issue issues mainstream.

Don't talk about low wages, high living costs, and a government bought and paid for by the billionaires (who are completely contrary to your every interest), no! Talk about trans people and canceling wokeness, and whatever else holds your attention long enough to just NOT look at the corporate oligarchy. I beg of you!

Honestly I think conservative brain rot is real. It's just more projection from the "woke mind virus" they keep claiming has infested the brains of liberals. By all accounts DeSantis was a reasonably intelligent, competent politician just a few years ago. Then he dunked in the Trump kool-aid, changed his voice, and embraced this anti-woke thing and now he's Ted Cruz. Nobody likes him or takes him seriously.

That or he just misjudged how the nation sees him compared to the zombies in Florida.
