I see numbers and my brain haywires. In 2008 it was 10 percent, in 2018 it was 28 percent, in the last year it's down to 23 percent. Seems like it's declining at least. Covid probably didn't help.

Suspected factors seem to be prolonged living at home, influence of social media, video games and other distractions. All this goes hand in hand with the "rise of the alpha male" influencers like Tate. What worries me most is that a lot of them resent this and are turning to misogynists that lay all the blame on women instead of trying to help themselves. All these kids that go and spend money on those only sites and them complain they dont want a girl with "high body count". Well guess what, NOBODY wants a person that doesnt take care of themselves, plays video games all day. Sure its more complicated than that, and the actual economy also plays a big part. Hard to feel confident when you dont have a decent paying job, have no place to yourself at a later age or just no positive outlook for the future. But first of all...work on yourselves before blaming women.

It's basically right in line w/ the rise in prominence of dating apps, especially ones like Tinder where looks is all that matters.
There's been OK Cupid and other sites doing surveys where women find 80% of men to be "below average" and how utterly massively skewed matches received are for men vs. women. Seems like dating has turned into feast or famine for men. I'm glad I'm out.

Im preeeeetty damn sure that the rise of video games has A LOT to do with these. Cause if your enjoying life in your fantasy world why even look outside, right? Except thats not really healthy and addictions are just masking underlying emotional problems. I missed so much of life over playing so much in my teen years. Even passed invitations to go out and thats how you mainly have the chance of knowing someone, exposure.
