I know he's way easier than almost every other boss people have listed, but I've never beaten Biolizard from Sonic Adventure 2 legitimately. Me, my brother, and his friend (who grew up playing Sonic games) all took turns fighting him for hours one day, and we all failed. The furthest we got was the final hit, which launches you into an updraft and makes you maneuver around these floating deadly orbs. We could never navigate pur way through for some reason. It wouldn't be until years later when I got Battle and made friends with someone who owned an Action Replay that I could finally get past. I could beat Finalhazard just fine, but not Biolizard.

Absolute Radiance comes to mind, since you have to do a gauntlet of about 42 other bosses in a row to even get a chance at fighting him.

Im doing Godhome DLC in Hollow Knight right now and its fucking brutal.

Oh yeah I don't know if it counts but Chapter 7 in F Zero GX is kind of a boss encounter against Black Shadow and Blood Falcon and on very hard difficulty it's pretty fucked up.

To be fair, Suguri's easy mode is really quite hard as far as easy modes go.
Suguri is a weird for a shmup anyways. It is a lot of gauge management, dash cancelling and I framing through specific projectiles than traditional shmup dodging. It is kinda like Ikaruga where it is called a shmup but you throw the traditional shmup textbook out the window.

Ehh, I blame the players more than the company for that. Absolute Virtue was supposed to be a giant fuck you if he happened to spawn, which is why he didn't have a loot table at the beginning. And if you are only making progress because of a zombie zerg, that should tell you that you should really try a different approach to the fight. FFXI was designed with a tank/DD/support/healer set up in mind. The playerbase is the one who decided to ignore it and go with all DD except for the poor thief who was allowed a single hit to put treasure hunter on and a single red mage to heal/buff/debuff/whatever else needed to be done.

Any% Radiance is a hacked version of Absolute Radiance that is *dramatically* harder than anything you can see in the base game. It's also getting a new, harder version as well. So might as well get your C&B torture training in prior to that as well.

I Wanna Be The Guy fangames have these really lame boss encounters. They'll put a picture of a character up and play a song while barraging you with different projectiles. If you get his once it's over.
So on top of needing reflexes and memorisation, it's boring and you can't speed it up.

Do these count? There's probably something in there that might qualify.

I think we can rule out any boss that isnt from a SCHMUP and yes that includes any fromsoft bosses

JRPG super bosses generally arent too bad, you just need to grind postgame to get enough stats

lingering will from KH2 is tougher than anything from any fromsoft game but I still wouldnt say lingering will is worthy of a toughest boss trophy

TTFAF expert is frontloaded, once you get past the intro and get into the green you're fairly safe.
I thought Jordan from GH2 was tougher but that's even less of a boss fight.

Man even if I am hopped up on my pain pill goofballs I don't know if I would come anywhere near close to living for 5 minutes after that bullet hell volley really kicks off.

Even in my 20s prime gaming age when I could hang in the insta-gib railgun quake 3 arena rooms with the best of'em I will get bodied something serious by whatever the hell is going on in this clip, lol.

I just recently finished a 100% all bosses playthrough of all 3 Dark Souls games + their DLC, and for me the hardest boss of all 3 games was by FAR the Nameless King. Took me two and a half hours straight and something like 25-28 tries in total I think. Way harder than Fume Knight/Alonne/Midir/Gael etc, imo.

Cant speak for the other From Soft bosses though. Ive havent played Sekiro or Elden Ring yet, and I beat Bloodborne only once long ago when it first came out so I dont remember too much of it (not that it wasnt memorable, I loved it actually, I just have plain awful memory).

For me, Old Man Isshin was WAY harder than Sword Saint. Granted, I fought him in NG+, but I fought Sword Saint again in NG+ and I stand by it.
