And then we're waiting on:

• Jack Smith's indictment announcements from his January 6th investigation, possibly coming out in the next week or two.
• Fani Willis' indictment announcements in the July 31st - August 18th time frame for election interference in Georgia
• *Possible* separate indictment from Jack Smith in New Jersey related to the unlawful dissemination of classified documents

Trump is likely going to spend the majority of 2024 in court.

No, because I think it's too drawn out. I get why it's drawn out, but I wouldn't personally have the patience to work in the legal field. I also think the US legal system is woefully behind in terms of technology. We only got the ability to report to jury duty and report to court virtually because of the covid pandemic. And there's talk of taking that away now that the official emergency declaration is over.

However, I do find certain things about it fascinating. Trump was... to be incredibly minimalistic... a stress test for multiple US institutions, including the legal system. Trump had a ton of incredibly incompetent and extremely corrupt people in his administration. Lots of people were indicted criminally, and lots of people just left his administration because they were fed up for one reason or another.

I've never seen that before, so I figured I would start keeping track of the names. The Trump administration spreadsheet started out with just a comparison to the Temptations. The Temptations were known for having a crapload of members over time. Then the list of names far outgrew the number of members the Temptations had, so I added in The Waterboys at someone's recommendation on CE. Then the list far outgrew The Waterboys, so I added the Power Rangers... I stopped updating it at some point, so I'm not sure if there have been new Power Rangers since then.

And likewise, we've never had a president charged criminally, so I was trying to just keep track of everything mentally at first. One case turned into two, two turned into 3, then the January 6th committee revealed a crapload of stuff Trump tried to do, and we're finally starting to see indictments and court criminal and civil cases materialize...

Too much to keep track of in my head, so I now have another spreadsheet, LOL.

Unfortunately all the ones I know are the standard issue right wing forum troll versions now. Where they super duper totes don't support or care about Donnie, but let me tell you about why republicans are great and they will keep voting for them and here's some random thing that a left winger did on Twitter and that's worse than the GOP.

I guess I was pretty naive about how callous some people can be towards other people. I knew that there were racist/bigoted idiots out there, but I assumed they were relatively limited in number in Lord Beyonce's year 2015.

Then Trump comes around and a number of people I considered friends, some co-workers, some bosses, etc. took their masks off and revealed their true selves. I spent a lot of time trying to explain Trump's obvious lies, but at some point I had just had enough. I really looked up to one of my high school band directors since high school... I was very into playing alto sax, and he spent the time to give me pointers and tips on how I could improve. I ended up getting a 1 rating at Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest my senior year specifically because of his advice.

When Trump ran for president, I'd notice a difference in his posts on social media. He would repeatedly post stuff from Breitbart, including racist shit about Obama. Then on January 6th, he was cheering on the insurrection. I was done with him after that.

I'll have to download a copy of that spreadsheet to look over. Once the other indictments and trial dates come in next month.
