Does the PS4 version still run better on PS5 than the PS5 version does?

My gf played Elden Ring after not being able to get into Dark Souls, and she loved it enough to get the Platinum.

The exploration is really fun and interesting. I'd give it a shot for that.

Thats what is drawing me in, the exploration, Im not sure why I didnt get into the Dark Souls games, I didnt hate them but quit when I couldnt bother getting better, I dunno.

Elden Ring and Dark Souls are terrible so don't play either.

Just kidding... I haven't played Elden, but the souls games are decent action adventure games somewhere between the linear layout and straightforward combat of God of War and the insane combo based spectacle of DMC and Bayonetta.

Elden ring is stupid.

Elden Ring is basically a Souls game, but it feels like it takes the best parts of each title, and improves upon them.

plus, with it being open-world, its progression feels a lot more flexible.

it does have its issues, like how the crypts/ruins end up feeling repetitive, but besides that, it's an amazing title, that I would recommend to anyone who's curious about it.

I played Elden Ring fully not intending to finish it, and I didn't lol. But I still had a lot of fun exploring and doing the stuff I could beat. Spend more time and had more fun with it than some other games I actually did finish.

Oh wait, DMC5 Special Edition is on 60% sale maybe Ill get that instead.

so when people tell me that i always wonder how high they took their HP stat.

next time you play any souls game, level vitality/vigor first. in elden ring, the best gains are between 30-40 vig -- so 40 vig should literally be the first thing you aim for.

and i mean, if you level anything else first, you put yourself further and further away from the most direct player power gains so HP first.

Get Bloodborne instead.

Now considering between DMC5 or FF Strangers of Paradise.

Elden Ring is Dark Souls with a jump button and a horsie.

The open world aspect of it doesn't really make it any easier or more compelling than Dark Souls, I actually prefer the Souls games (except 2) because they're more curated and handcrafted due to being smaller. Elden Ring basically lets you become insanely overpowered right at the start of the game but you need to do some research and a LOT of grinding to get maxed out gear and stats. Otherwise the game can be annoyingly hard. Wandering around aimlessly going into every cave you find isn't going to get you enough good gear and stats, which is kind of sad because the open world nature of the game really promises you that it will be fun to explore, when really you need to just rush between points on a checklist.
