Absolutely love it. The vibes are immaculate. And the story's really fun/atmospheric so far. Just got to the part where you choose either Terra, Locke, or Sabin's paths. I finished Locke's, now I'm doing Sabin where he meets Cyan/Kaien. Wasn't expecting the Doma music from FF14 to start blasting. FF6 fans must've loved Stormblood, huh.

Really love the music as well. Granted, this is the PS5 version with updated audio, but even still, it's great.

I miss the days when a random NPC will say something like "rich people have secret rooms in their house" and then you go into the rich person house and find their secret room. The area design is so fun.

6 is easily best or second best in the series depending on who you ask. I just hate the progression system. If youre an OCD min maxer, you basically have to go through the game trying to gain as few levels as humanly possible until you get an Esper that gives Vigor+2 or MagPwr+2, etc., and if you want max MP there are other considerations depending on what version of the game youre playing, etc.

Its completely unnecessary as the game is piss easy regardless, I just cant help being bugged by it.

Great game, hope you have a blast with it! Regarding the music, there is an option to change the music to the original OST, if you want to hear what those songs sounded like.

I rate it as 4th best, but one of 5 games to be in the top tier of FF games.

I think I can safely say this game has left the big 3(VI, VII, IX) and can safely put XVI in its place.

VI is great, but its 4th place at best now.

T edition is the best FF6.

Wish there was some way to mod it into the PR using Cyan's improvements.

Best OST on SNES imo, blows CT away and CT OST is amazing in itself.

Finishing 16 and jumping into 6 right after was so funny because 16 ends with magic being wiped out, and then 6 starts with "magic used to be a thing but was wiped out."

I think my top 3 FF games right now would be 10, 16, and 6. But I honestly haven't played that many.

I like the old mobile version. I dont think you can get it anymore..... No one liked it anyways.

I liked it. I think it's the best vanilla version tbh. You get the GBA extras, SNES music, fixes Cyan, & Sabin, and it's also the least censored version outside of the PS1.

It's goddamned fantastic is what it is. All the Pixel Remasters have great updated music but they swung for the fences with VI, and rightly so.

Edgar and Sabin are OP.

Just finished the 3 separate scenarios and everyone reconvened in Narshe to fight Kefka. Terra turned into an Esper and flew away.

Still having fun with everything. Music continued to be very atmospheric and enjoyable. Characters continue to be fun and we're getting some good interactions and development.

The game wasnt designed for 8 attacks in one turn. Its broken as hell. Sure youre defenses might suck some on that one character but who cares, they attack 8 times at once.

The narrative being split into three was a very interesting touch and something they hadn't done up utnil that point.

Only thing is they don't really do that again in the game. The rest of the game is pretty much following a single party through the story, and sometimes (like now) you get to choose who's in it.

To that point, the game may suggest you "balance things" by "beefing up the defenses in Narshe", but don't worry too much about it. You're fine taking a powerful team.

Just finished Zozo and got some Esper powers from Ramuh. That's a neat gameplay idea. I feel like I remember this "progress %" mechanic to unlock abilities from another game. Was it X-2?

It's pretty fun. It's kind like how I always imagined the ending of KH3 should've been -- swapping between multiple teams of characters as you battle your way to the main boss.

That's fine. I liked it for what it is, but I'm not sad it doesn't happen again. It was definitely a fun approach to storytelling, and I'd like if future FF games do it again at some point.

It's honestly how parts of FF15 should've been, when Gladio or whoever temporarily leaves the party for their DLC adventure.

FF9 & Tactics Advance used it.

FF7 kinda used it but for a different purpose.

It's great, but the singer they got for the opera scene was bad. That's probably by design, but it was disappointing nonetheless.

It was "by design" but they kinda missed the point that Celes was actually good enough to fool Setzer & the audience into thinking she was actually Maria.

Just did the opera house and met Setzer from Kingdom Hearts 2. That was really fun. Wasn't expecting actual voices for the singing.

Good thing Celes was trained in acting, singing, and performing during her time as an Imperial General.

...demonstrates how much better the vocals could have been. Narratively, it fits that Celes doesn't sound like a professional opera singer, but I personally would have preferred a better vocalist.

For me, the garbled "voice" of the SNES version was part of the game's charm.

It's the same sort of reason why the "live action" Disney remakes nowadays feel like they're missing something.

Personally, whenever I heard the opera in earlier versions, my mind was always trying to stretch it to wondering what it would sound like for real.

I thought the opera singing sounded great.

It was largely not a popular version, and they wanted people to look at the upcoming "new hotness" Pixel Remaster at the time.

Still having a fun time.

Locke and Celes' thing feels kinda forced at times, but this whole story feels more like a theater play so I'm not expecting romances to come off as 100% lifelike lol.

All that happened on the island was giving Cid a copious amount of fish and watching him die.
Celes tries to kill herself, but is saved by a seagull or something, and then leaves to find Locke.
