Meh, I hear people speaking English using their native language's grammar all the time. It's how practically every boomer here speaks English.

I can imagine.

She actually make these videos for English speakers trying to learn Swedish however. To make them aware of the differences regarding syntax between the two languages.

That's actually quite helpful. Having watched all of those there seem to be quite a few similarities between Dutch and Swedish in terms of grammar.

"Hear"?

I'm still messing up my english in writen form all the time, because I mix some german grammar in it.

Suddenly I have "random" uppercase letters in it, because nouns always start uppercase in german, and I call objects with "he", because the object has a male grammatical gender in german.

Yes. Grammar isn't just spelling. It's how sentences are structured which differs from language to language. Just look at how French differs from German in structure, the placement of nouns and verbs,...

I know, I just wanted to note that it's only about talking (more or less) fluently.

Even when I'm writing a message (much slower compared to talk), such mistakes are common for me. I don't even notice them many times after reading my own text again.

My english is more than good enough to work internationally or write on this board, but many times I notice that I did something wrong or at least strange.

And I don't want to know how many times I do something wrong or strange without me noticing it.

As someone learning Bokml norsk (Norwegian), yeah understanding the structure was a fun undertaking (also learning parts of speech again, amazing to realize that while I speak English fine enough being my first language, maybe I didn't understand why things worked the way did did still and took it for granted). Hearing her videos my mind was going "but that sounds right.." but then having to realize, oh she's just speaking as my brain does when I translate over.

Our two languages are related after all. Reading Dutch can make somewhat sense but spoken Dutch is more tricky.
