I don't know if this is my favorite as I can't think of others at the moment, but I always thought this one was badass. Especially given the actual fight. FF IV was my first Final Fantasy, so it will probably always be my favorite. It has its problems, but I like that it doesnt eventually devolve into everyone can do everything, and that its possible to (practically) max stats in it since Im a min maxer. I say functionally because the caps are 99, and you can get about 99 in 4 stats and 97 in one depending on the character, so its possible to make the 97 be a stat they dont use. 6 and 8 have the annoying system where if you want the best stats, you have to do a LLG (Low Level Game) until you get Espers / GFs that give you the highest bonuses to particular stats. This is trivially easy in 8 with its level scaling, but very hard in 6. 9 is probably the best Final Fantasy, and is in a similar boat if memory serves, where I believe you get higher stats if you LLG until you get certain weapons, even if it doesnt functionally matter.
