Excellent! I thought we were starting to wrap up and was kinda a little disappointed.

Actually thinking on it it's probably more than half.

It shocked me when Ultima appeared as the frail senator and told you to do it when you cut off his hands

I think sometimes that percentage is for your current 'activity' if that makes sense. Although I'm not sure if that's the case for FFXVI.

There's a current activity percentage AND an overall, but I'm not sure how accurate the overall is.

I know the hours played is off for pretty much every game, so the overall is probably not entirely accurate. I've never paid close enough attention to it during any game to know for sure.

Call me crazy all you want but I felt like the length was just right even with doing side quests.

Flan Prince was definitely my first hunt that really wrecked my shit in. Even when I was at the same level, he still did tons of damage, so it was a matter of really studying his moves.

My only game over was on a hunt as well. Level 50 hunt, I was level 34.

Immediately challenged him again for the victory. No getting the drop on me a second time, bub.

I have an OCD about doing everything as soon as it's available if I feel it's possible. I had the monster down to his last 10% of HP my first attempt before he one shot me because of a careless mistake on my part.

So I knew I could take him. Had he wrecked me from the get go, I might have waited and tried again later.

Edit: Although I did get my 50k+ damage in one stagger trophy on him. So I got extra revenge.

I kinda love how you collect seals like they are gym badges in Pokemon.

There are 68 total chapters in the game. You can look up a list and see where you're at for some kind of gauge. I thought I was close to the end and I was on like chapter 39. It's wild how long the game is.

It's like, one of the only challenging fights in the game. The S rank hunts, at least to start, are often 10+ levels above you. It makes the game SHINE and is such a shame nothing else comes even close.

This game has been so fucking good. Gives me FFT vibes for a new age (at least narrative wise)

About 50%. It keeps getting better too.

tbh it was at that point where i was also wishing for the boring ass game with boring ass characters to fucking end. glad i finished the game though, it gets a bit better when you get more eikons, im glad i took my time and did sidequests and stuff. overall nice game and i still have the title of beating every mainline ff game that isnt an mmorpg.

I liked that fight more than the Titan one. It was so epic and seeing Clive and Joshua together again was amazing

Ohhh man, this gets so anime. Again, I've said it in a previous topic, all of this is very .HACK//GU where once you get into your mech/Eikon, it just goes bonkers bananas. And I love it.

Ifrit and Phoenix merged and fought Bahamut in fucking space!!!

Absolutely love Byron. Game is filled with characters I just loved.

I finished it Saturday. Game is fucking great.

Byron is probably my favorite character in the game so far. The way he reacts to Clive coming to him, not believing it's really him and then starting to break into tears while he replies to Clive, and how he is when he first sees Joshua again. His emotions seem so genuine despite being a videogame character, I actually audibly reacted to that.

At level 43 I could finally beat that Svarog hunt. At the end of the day I think I could have beaten it earlier but I was just too aggressive for my own good. XD

LOL, and then the S-Rank hunt in Ash you can get? Pandemonium? So much easier than Svarog.

So, is Odin so OP because he is in league with Ultima? Like, he is shown to be like a thousand times more powerful than any of the other dominants... which is kinda annoying if they don't explain it.

he's just overleveled after conquering a whole goddamn continent. also because Odin is cool.

See that's a fair assumption (also him being Akashic making him super powerful is as well is also one) but...Odin is still absolutely OP even when using him as Clive (Level 5 Zantetsuken is ridiculous).

I think Bahamut and Odin are just OP in general as the Eikons of Light and Dark, and then Titan is kind of in that tier because of his size.

Alright, I'm gonna type out the story of the past as Ultima deigns to tell me.

Sounds like God (Ultima? Other Gods?) gave Magic to the world to allow life to flourish on the planet. However, with the magic eventually came The Blight. Even the gods could not stop it, so they fled in attempts to find the cure. They needed to find a land without corruption. The Gods cast off their flesh body, which was corrupted, and made their way to Valisthea which was "pure as snow". The Blight followed behind them however... so they needed to literally create a new world.

They would need power and the "constitution" to purify/create a new world. Power came from placing Mothercrystals in Valisthea itself, gathering Aether from a pure land. The "constitution" however came from humans themselves. Ultima (or the Gods as a collective) created humanity for the purpose of being a vessel to allow the world to be purified? While the gods slept, humanity became "sentient" to their own will and used their will to fight one another and claim right to the power of aether, using it and allowing the Blight to encroach upon the pure lands.

... so basically if what I can figure out is true, the Gods put magic on the planet. This caused The Blight cause of... reasons. Humanity did not exist at this point. The Gods, fearful of the mistake they made, created humans as a means to an end. Become strong, but without a will of their own, and then one of the humans would become Mythos, a being with the Constitution needed to combine with the power of the Mothercrystals on Valisthea, to create a new world. Humanity will not be welcomed on this new world as again, they are a means to an end. Humanity is looked down upon by Ultima for having found their own will and desire to live.

We are a resource to utilize, like Oil or Gas, only we've decided we don't wanna do that and are fucking up God's plan.

EDIT - It COULD be that humans always existed, and what he means about "creating us" is Dominants in particular. We were meant to be a resource for them and then used up and cast aside?

I think you generally have it right, though I'm pretty sure they did make humans, as you can see Barnabas manifested that one knight and he wasn't as strong as what the gods and Ultima could do I guess.

The backstory is just needlessly complicated and it's absolutely silly how much of it is only revealed through Tomes as you progress the story.

There's some more that gets revealed at the end in the final showdown with Ultima so I won't mention it yet because it's still spoilers for you.

One thing that kind of annoyed me is how it's like "Yeah all this shit took place thousands of years ago" meanwhile in-game it's the year like 873 and there's no explanation for what caused Year 0!

Sleipnir was his Egi, the same as the two wind elementals/harpies Benedikta could summon forth. When Barnabas becomes Odin, Sleipnir transforms into the horse (which is accurate to Norse mythology just minus a pair of legs).

And of course another thing this game didn't answer is if that was an ability unique to the two of them or like, did someone like Jill actually have the ability to summon an Egi and not know it?

Go to your home screen on the picture with Final Fantasy 16 and look down on your right. You'll see time played and the percentage of how long you have until you beat the game.
