There are two cards I still need to, Gold, as in I need to beat the game with them in my deck. These two cards are from a 3 card set, and all three of them are great, but they are Purged when you play them. You have to wait to use them until you can change them from Purge to Consume, and still not use them in the last fight so you can win with them in your deck. I think they start off with a negative thing as well

Are they available to all of the Champions or just specific ones. Do I have to be above a certain Heat to see them?

Just a couple recs as a huge StS fan, Roguebook has probably been my favorite alternate, Sea Horizon just released on consoles and seems very close and solid also. Midnight Suns surprisingly is similar also in it's card combat style.

I need to give Monster Train a fair chance, I own it but have only played a couple hours.

I've definitely gotten those on 1 Heat for fun runs. It's one of the frozen cave events. You're presented with those 3 as choices and have to pick one. I don't think they come with downsides, but they start as Purge, and if you don't use them can get a later event to change it to Consume instead. Once they're on Consume, they can then be spell upgraded to not Consume, I think.

You shouldn't have to not play a card with Consume for it to count as being in your deck. Simply not purging a card is the only requirement for it being in your deck (along with actually having it in the deck to begin with, e.g. it can't be a card you gained during the fight for that fight only by playing another card or through an artifact).

You can play it, but not in the last fight since its out of your Deck when you win. I messed up one time

I finally got the Sword one, but ended up losing because my floor got shuffled around

You definitely get gold borders if a card is consumed in the last fight. I earned the gold border for virtually every card with Consume in the game while playing it in the last fight, and even several other spells by adding Consume to them. Your "deck" is the overall deck that persists between floors and has nothing to do with what is actually in your draw/discard pile during a fight. Similarly, you get frames for creatures when you play them even though that also makes them leave your in-fight deck.

Hmm, interesting. Maybe that was the one I do have the Gold Border with. Thanks for the correction
