I wonder if it has anything to do with when I had a car accident in February, had slight pain then afterwards for a week but it wasnt this bad.

Could barely move my head this morning, the the pain shoots towards my right ear and eye as well.

Gotta do max dose ibuprofen and see if ot helps.

Anyone had neck pain come up several months after an accident?

Maybe I should call the clinic today.

Stay away from ibuprofen, repeated doses makes the pain worse.

Try a capsaicin muscle rub, only thing that really works for deep pain.
(*wash hands thoroughly or apply with glove)

I need a source for the Ibuprofen thing. I clearly have inflammation and its anti-inflammatory. I do rub with tiger balm.

can confirm. it's why i could only take it for X amount of days. before i go cold turkey for a while.

had back pain myself for a month once, both incidents (one with bending, the other from a seizure incident). really hot weather and dehydration caused the last incident (learned something that day).

I pulled a deep muscle or nerve in the area about an inch behind the ear.

Never felt such pain before. Its kinda sharp pain in the location but it also radiates all the way up the back of my head and to the right side.

So I was having neck pain as well as a migraine for like 3 full weeks until it healed.

Ok Im not feeling well and my brain has gone overdrive with anxiety.

My mind has started to think what if its TBE (tick-borne encephalitis).

Resons why:
More muscles have started to be in pain today, but still contained around the area.

I have an itchy bite on my stomach, I was in nature on Sunday and the worst pain started on monday (but Ive had milder neck and shoulder pain a week before)

I just threw up and had watery diarreah, but that could be a reaction to the weird cucumber I ate I made topic about or food poisoning from food I cooked yesterday (ground meat).

Havent had any fever tho.

Its past midnight and my brain wants to fuck with me probably.

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to get better pain meds.

I dunno if I can fall asleep.

Shit, that sounds reckless as fuck. No wonder there's a prescription drug epidemic. Try finding out the underlying cause of that pain, and it will help you in the long run, rather than causing other issues from taking all those pills. Good luck.

Its not opioids, I need the antiinflammatory pills to reduce the inflammation.
I have no idea why I have the pain neither does the doctor. I am meeting up with the physiotherapist on monday.
The Gabapentin is a drug for epilepsy but also for nerve pain and he said that will help with the pain most and my pain is pretty bad. I can take up to 3 muscle relaxants a day but Im not gonna take more than one for the night if I really need to.

Havent had a good night sleep since Sunday and its just getting worse so I need the medication, even if I hate taking medicine.

Get your CBC, Metabolic panel, and CRP blood tests done. We want to look at your wbc, rbc, calcium, liver, kidney, and any sign of auto-immune disorder, inflammation in your body. Good luck.

There's a chance you've been holding a different posture or sleeping differently since the accident to protect yourself, thus creating a muscle imbalance. It sounds like a muscle strain in the levator scapula, the muscle that connects your cervical spine to your shoulder blade. Could be the upper trapezius too but mine is always levator.

Your physio will put you through some tests to determine what exactly is hurting you though. Expect to be given exercises to strengthen weakened muscles and stretches to elongate shortened muscles.

I am not a medical professional, just someone who gets hurt a lot and then studies why I am hurt.

Take it very easy on movement.

During the acute stage of a strain rest is the most important thing. If you can rest on your back with your neck and shoulders well supported you'll recover quicker.

A recliner with a pillow roll under your neck is great for TV time. In bed with a flat pillow under your head + the neck roll when sleeping. A neck roll can be easily substituted with a rolled up towel that's just big enough to fill in the natural gap that would be there if you were to just lay flat on the floor. No bigger or smaller.

Follow this for 4 days. Absolutely avoid anything that makes you use those muscles for anything other than standing upright. Do not attempt to stretch.

Hopefully you have seen your physio by this point..

But the next step involves light movement with the goal of restoring function very gradually. If you start doing this on your own because the physio appointment is far off, feel free to message me for some tips.

Oh yeah and sorry if you're a side sleeper. Lol. It's so much harder. You'll need to attempt to stabilize your neck perfectly with the right sized pillow creating a nice 90 degree angle. Another pillow is needed for a huggy buddy to keep your shoulders from rounding when you sleep.

Got some moves to do to loosen up the mucles and they tapes my shoulder.

A spasm can just be a consistent drawing of the muscle. A "locked" muscle that doesn't let you move through your proper range of motion. Hence the pain when you breathe as the primary function of the intercostals is to expand your rib cage.

Not a fun pain at all.. I've been in your shoes far too many times.

Yea, I often think of spasm as a flutter or convulsing of the muscle. But it can also be constant, like a cramp. It's a shame they don't use those words to describe it. Spasm is so general.
