How are you surviving one of the many brutal heatwaves happening around the world currently?

I didn't know it was happening elsewhere. I don't go outside as much, and got the ACs blasting. I have tried taking a few lunch break walks though, and they are brutal.

Same way I always do.

By not being outside as much as possible

I was lucky enough to be able to live in a place with a central air.

It's all fair game between -10 and 110 F

I left Texas to be in Jersey for the weekend so I guess that's how I'm handling it lol

I live in Florida. This is just the weather.

By living in England. Every now and then, it gets too hot for the locals, but I enjoy it.

Someone please tell me what freaking heatwave?

Here in Britain it hasn't gotten above 20Celsius for most parts of the country since the last couple of weeks of Spring back in June.

Currently in Scotland it is 17Celsius with rain.

Parts of Europe are experiencing severe heat.

It is like someone with a sick sense of humour went "Oh look lets give the entire Northern Hemisphere a heatwave except for one island of the North-Western coast of Europe. Lets give them utter shit weather instead"!

I'm not, i'm up on a roof working currently.

I'm not hot.

Central air. And even then, some of the folks I live with think that keeping it at 72 Fahrenheit (22.222 Celsius, for those of you with the good fortune to live outside of the US) is somehow "freezing", while I'm roasting in my own juices when the temperature is any higher than 68 F (20 C). It really doesn't help that this part of the country is so unbearably humid (thanks a lot, Great Lakes and corn sweat!), that we may as well all be trapped inside a giant sauna.

Well ya see, let me tell ya a story how I blew my back out. My father likes the AC at 78 but my room is above a garage which gets hot as fuck and transfers the heat ya see. So I asked shim to turn it to 76 and instead he bought me a new portable AC. I have my cousin bring it up stairs and I said I do it later. So when no one was there I set my AC up and threw my back out.

San Francisco, thankfully, decided to opt out of the heatwave

I work outside so it sucks. At least it's not cold.

Inside with AC. It's not even that bad here (85F).

The high today was 24C (75F) here... in Braga, Portugal.

Which is so much better than it was last year at this time.

I've had my windows open all day.

I'm surviving by living somewhere that is in the 70's all week

Can you cook a full meal on a stone / metal sheet lying outside?

I work unders hot Diesel engines and exhaust systems no matter the temperature outside I always feel like I'm in an oven.

I'd kill to have temperatures like that where I live.

For the last 4 weeks here in Glasgow Scotland it has been between around 15Celsius (59Fahrenheit) - 19Celsius (66Fahrenheit) with one day managing 20Celsius (68Fahrenheit).

The highest we have had was at the beginning of June where we had a late Spring heatwave where the temperatures reached 26Celsius (79Fahrenheit).

July has been utterly crap to say the least.

It's not so bad here yet, but it's going to be horrible soon. It's only 94 right now

Being outdoors all the time, Im just used to the heat.

Which is good because I dont really like being indoors unless its at night

By living too far north for it to affect me. Today was a rainy day for me.

I have to ride a bike to work, and it was 103 today when I rode. Wasn't too bad except when I was waiting to cross the highway. I have to do the same tomorrow.

I've been doing my outdoor walking very early in the morning lately. It's been to hot in the evening to go out walking for me with all these constant 100+ degree days. It's not going to be to long before I'll have smoke to deal with from all the wildfires burning around. Already got a big one going on about an hour drive north from where I live. I'm likely going to be staying indoors a lot this summer.
