I follow the damage mitigation strategy that voting for democrats is a vote to keep outright fascist republicans out of that particular seat.

Until we can figure out a way to break the two party stranglehold, I will always vote the lesser of the two evils, and the more rational but greedy and flawed centrist bureaucrat over the white nationalist religious fanatic - that is also greedy and corrupt.

yes, that is correct. the number of left-wingers in the US is quite small in comparison. I think this is largely because of the US having a relatively high standard of living compared to most of the rest of the world. that's starting to change now though as its stage of capitalism advances, and there are more people developing class consciousness

When this sub gets outraged that I suggested 4-17 year olds shouldn't be allowed get life changing, irreversible gender reassignment surgery until they are adults so they fully understand what they are getting themselves into instead of regretting it like that one girl who sue doctors/surgeon who removed her boobs when she was a minor even though she wanted it at that time and if she didn't get what she wanted she would've sued the doctor for discrimination anyways, you know this sub leans left

I guess the question can be answered by thinking about if one says something conservative or liberal which is more likely to get modded.

I think conservative talking points are more likely to get modded unless you outright criticize them. Just to name an example some of the stuff Ron DeSantis says would get modded here unless you distance yourself from the comments. I don't think anything Biden or AOC says is moddable. So site leans left.

I feel like people in the U.S. might lean a little bit more left than even they themselves realize. It's just that the left in the U.S. is politically underrepresented and most people can't really perceive politics outside of the boundaries of our two-party system, in large part thanks to corporate Dems and their donors drowning out more progressive politicians and making them politically unviable.

But you talk to a lot of Democrat voters and realize they're at least a little bit more left-leaning than the Democrat Party. With several people outright calling them the lesser of two evils.
