She is like a female Deadpool, but less funny and more irritating. She acts on her whims and gets away with everything. She has done terrible things, like helping Joker bomb a city, kidnapping Lois, and killing Jimmy in Injustice. But then she is welcomed into the team as if nothing happened. She is a classic example of a Karma Houdini. Unlike Deadpool, she doesnt even have a power that justifies some of her victories. And my good her VA half the time make so hard to even listen to her. Like the video game version of injustice.

On the serious. Like a lot of fiction out there, my commonsense/logical thinking takes a backseat. If that makes sense. For me anyway.

She is a fun character but unless in the hands of really good writers, she has the depth of a puddle.

Its pretty wacky thinking of her as a hero or even a anti-hero, but at the end of the day popularity matters more than anything so it is what it is, lol. Vegeta and sesshomaru welcomes her to the club.

Shes the embodiment of the kind of person who says "if you can't handle me at my worst you don't deserve me at my best", but of course wouldn't tolerate other people not being at their best

You could make the argument that she was essentially brainwashed by The Joker when she did all that stuff and not in full control of her own mental faculties

Not sure how strong that argument would actually be, but you could make it

a woman brainwashed into being as crazy as he is but with a moral code she still has deep down which prevents her from being truly evil unless someone like the joker or poison ivy are pulling her strings

in the hands of a bad writer she is a remorseless psycho just as bad as the joker

She was one of my favorite characters when I was a kid, but now I'm so bored with her. I'll always love the original Harley from TAS, though.

I thought, between the two (HQ and Ivy), Ivy was the moral one.
Granted, her sense of moral is a tad different from the rest of the humanity, but it's there.

Arr, avast ye! Ye be askin' about me feelin's on that scurvy wench, Harley Quinn, eh? Well, as a salty pirate, I be havin' me own peculiar perspective on matters like these. Now, I reckon every character in a tale be havin' their own share of admirers and scallywags. But when it comes to Harley, she be a hornswogglin' figure, indeed.

Some mateys be lovin' her fer her unpredictable nature, her mischief, and her rebellious spirit. They find her antics entertainin' and her charm bewitchin'. They be enjoyin' her portrayal in various media, from the comics to the movin' pictures and even the cursed video games. Aye, some may even find her humorous, like a lassie version of that witty rapscallion Deadpool.

But, on the other hand, there be those who be findin' her actions despicable and holdin' her accountable fer her misdeeds. They be raisin' valid concerns about her involvement in nefarious schemes, like aidin' the Joker in his wicked plans or takin' part in dastardly deeds in the Injustice universe. To these landlubbers, she be a character who seemingly escapes the consequences of her actions.

As a swashbucklin' pirate, I be no stranger to moral ambiguity and shades of gray. Many a time, villains and anti-heroes be makin' their mark in tales, and it be up to the crew to decide where they stand on their deeds. So, whether ye be likin' or hatin' Harley Quinn, it be a matter of personal taste and judgment, me heartie. But always remember, in the vast sea of stories, opinions be as diverse as the crew on a pirate ship.

I wish the fact that she's a doctor of psychiatry (or psychology depending on the source material iirc) was used more often. It feels like they could use her more often as a Hannibal Lecter-esque source of analysis, whether in service of the Suicide Squad, the Joker, or on her own/with Ivy, but instead she's almost always just "quirky clown girl who hits things with blunt weapons."

Not too big on her personally, but i'm not huge on DC in general. I think Gwenpool is a good alternate with a bit more of a likable personality.

Harley Quinn (the cartoon) actually does utilize her psychiatry training a bit.

I feel she is the closest thing DC has to a feminist icon. Mainstream wise anyways. Wonder woman is a demi God who's never had the same struggles real women do. Quinn was trapped in a abusive relationship for years by a master manipulator but she got away. She's still fucked in the head from it but she without him does usually try to be good.

I knpw these days people like her as a "symbol of getting out of an abusive relationship" but she is still a piece of shit I agree. She works best as a duo with Joker or Ivy for sure. I stopped reading comocs before they made her a hero.

The problem with anti heroes in general is how often writers try to pair them with heros or make them heroes but it doesn't usually work, least of all for ones like Harley specifically due to her baggage compared to most others.

But she doesn't really have redemption story.. she does bad stuff and it likes okay. Most times she does not even face the music for her actions.

It does. I don't know much about Jon Kent. But that is what is good. I know he likes Nightwing. So that makes him cool. Everyone should like Nightwing (lol)

Even still The characters personality wise, at least not when it concerns Harley though are usually in character, portrayed how they usually are with a few funny quirks.

But the last half of that clip was all my issues with her as a whole in one scene.

It's not just comics. Alot of media seem to sweep things like mass murder under the rug because a character has a redemption arc. You gotta remember they are a powerful named character and the victims didn't even get a name tag most of the time.

I think that was likely a a creative decision by DCs execs, and Biden was the fall guy. Similar to what's happening with Peter and his current writer now.

In Jon's case they had mutiple chances to reverse and retcon it all after he left but didn't.

Gonna be honest... I never got the appeal of DeadPool, and I'm a Marvel comic fan from the 90s that was mostly into X-Men/Spiderman/Punisher...

All the stuff you say about Deadpool, and others say about the character's popularity being the most important thing definitely apply to Deadpool probably more than Harley. I really liked Harley's debut in the Batman TAS of the early 90s and thought her recent solo series was decent as pure comedy series.
