I was listening to Knowledge Fight and apparently Alex Jones is happy that Sound of Freedom is doing better than "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Feminism." Are right wingers against the new Indiana Jones movie or is Alex Jones just being Alex Jones?

Sound of Freedom is not REALLY doing better than Indiana Jones.

They are counting some ticket sales twice. They are self-reporting their take and they have a feature in their marketing where you can buy a ticket for someone... so they count the money raised through that as well as the ticket then being used.

they will only argue about this for a week or two. The sales for Indiana Jones will go down in the next two weeks, and then people won't be talking about it anymore. Not to mention that Oppenheimer and Barbie are coming

Reddit keeps suggesting r/saltierthankrayt which is an anti-chud sub about Star Wars, so I can confidently say that yeah, right wingers have been real mad about it. My impression is that there's a female character in the movie and thus it's woke.

It portrays the Nazis as the bad guys, "those" people are obviously upset.

This is a weird assertion considering the same can be said of the original films, and they are pretty much universally beloved.

I just don't understand why people seem to *need* to convince us that it's not bad. It's been brought up on CE like every other day. It's like they are paying you guys to talk about every flop sequel and children's move that comes out.

I thought nobody gave a shit because Harrison Ford is as old as fuck

I'm still going to see it though because old as fuck Harrison Ford is still Harrison Ford and I'd pay to watch him look mildly annoyed and like he's rather be somewhere else at a grocery list for an hour and a half

I'm pretty sure it's a movie no one wants to see, doesn't matter what their political leaning is. One of those franchises that should have stayed dead when Ford was still young and that's really all there is to it.

So at this point is anything from Disney considered woke and they want it to fail?

Is it possible for something to not be subject of a culture war now?

No minorities or female leads? Not diverse boycott it!

Minorities or female leads? The woke agenda! Boycott it!

It's kind of been that way. It doesn't help that a lot of Disney content lately isn't doing well, and that makes it easier for them to try and claim that boycotting "woke" Disney content is working.

Culture war aside, it doesn't really feel like Disney has really been making anything fresh and exciting these days, which is probably why people are burning out.

Those people are not given platform back when the old movies released.

This is a chud talking point.

I don't see how it is, but I'm not willing to argue over this. I'm not really looking to participate in a discussion like that over an apparently aggressively average movie that I didn't end up watching.

I don't hold any particular love of media corporations in general. It just seems like it's really common for people here to try and prod other's into consuming bad/aggressively average media instead of criticizing it. This happens with video games too, where a clearly terrible game will have people insisting "C'mon guys, it's not THAT bad". Or getting angry that you criticized it.

And yet you're here, trying to make a fuss about it.

As if your "it's bad guys, don't watch it because i told you so" attitude is any better.

I think that's the issue along with Disney+

Like it's harder to find the motivation to go to the cinemas when it's gonna be on a subscription in a short while.

The box office is definitely feast or famine right now. Even Mission Impossible isn't tracking all that high. I think it's gonna be the year of Mario and Barbie.
