Some initial observations

• Does the world know Ren is a phantom thief or just the police? Either way, still annoyed Sae insisted you sit in juvie for months after witnessing you save the world. Dunno if I should blame her specifically or if Ren's identity was already leaked by Akechi before Sae's palace infiltration, but whoever did it, now Ren gets to be stalked by feds
• Yusuke is so poor he lost cell phone service? Damn, give the man some change Haru. I never felt like the original P5 was so explicit about him being impoverished, I know there's the joke in Hawaii but that could happen to any teenager.
• Ryuji flunked 3 finals. This dude's gonna get stuck as a construction worker
• The voice recordings are... strange? Makoto is talking directly in my ear while Futaba is across the room.
• Makoto is in college... wasn't she a junior in P5? So this takes place two years later?
• Thinking of the passage of time, what is Morgana's lifespan?

• Why does Ren do the 'chad' profile view in dialogue this game lol

Absolutely loved the game. I would love if we got more games like it as side stories.

Some great music in the game, and some really fun bosses.

So... which persona 5 did you play, and which ending did you get.

I love p5 strikers so much, crazy to think the dynasty warriors guys could make a game so good using their gameplay blueprint as a jumping off point.

Also p5 strikers' redhead is so much better than p5 royal's redhead

Makoto and Haru were third years in P5 while everyone else were second years (except Futaba). I'm guessing Japanese high school only has 3 years, since we never heard anything about 4th years.

I liked Yoshizawa. It's a shame you can't use her in the later dungeons but it'd also be strange in retrospect for her to be there against Yaldabaoth without all her issues being sorted yet. And well they probably just didn't want to redraw the anime cutscenes sadly... I liked the idea of Ren having a girl he sees outside of his phantom thief circle who are coworkers as much as friends. Actually I would've liked more Ren/Akechi/Yoshizawa, they were a really fun dynamic! There's also cut content of an Akechi/Yoshizawa Showtime that would probably have been introduced when he tells her to follow his lead. Wish we'd gotten to see that.

The English voices were recorded during the start of Covid and the voice actors recorded their lines from their own houses. It is pretty clear some of the voice actors were able to handle recording at home better than others.

High School in Japan only has 3 years. Makoto and Haru were year 3s in Persona 5.

How can you possibly concentrate on saving the world when you have this waifu app humming and swinging her legs around >_>

Seems like a steep learning curve to this game. Sophia has a perfect mechanic with her yoyos for example. But I still don't have a good grasp of the basic mechanics. Like it's not clear when an enemy needs to be all out attacked to die vs when it can just have its health dropped to zero.

A lot of the combat is about continuously triggering weakness in the enemy you're fighting and using that to constantly chain 1-more's and All-out attacks. You shouldn't ever HAVE to hit an All-out attack to finish an enemy, it just causes the "Potential"(Fake?) health bar to be triggered immediately and go down. The issue starting out is that you have very little SP and no real way to regain it, so combat is much tougher early than it is late(Weird, right?)

Most characters standard--->standard------>standard------->Heavy attack chain triggers their element, which is your only real way to take advantage of enemy weaknesses early in the game. Try to always be triggering weaknesses whenever possible and you should have a bit of an easier time with everything.

It will get easier once you have more SP to work with though. Cycling though your team to conserve SP for whoever you need to hit a bosses weakness is a legitimate strategy, especially on higher difficulties.

Strikers is my first Persona game and the reason I played P5 (and am going to play 3 and 4 at some point). I really loved the roadtrip experience and the world and characters.

...Don't really like the gameplay through. There's a severe issue with SP conservation. The only real way to do decent damage to enemies is to hit them with magic skills targeting their weakness and triggering an All Out or Showtime or whatever it was called. Personas have a free elemental attack in their combo, but it's weak and doesn't do the trick in general. But it also means that despite the variety of moves in your combo strings, there's no reason to ever do any other combo finisher than that one. You should absolutely target SP related skills first with your skill points. Especially the one that improves SP restoration from items. And you need to know exactly which places sell SP restoration items and hit them up every day.

Also pro tip, some of joker's healer personas you can restore your health cost free for the entire team if you just use their elemental combo when not in combat. I'm not sure if its dependant on what skills they have or if it's limited to specific personas.
