I'mma be real. This massive release of cards constantly, the fact that I have very little chance of every getting them because Shards are so rare and you need so many, the Spotlight Cache is absolute shit, and the fact that they're leaning more towards encouraging more spending on the game for cool stuff, including these emotes, is really killing my interest in this game.

The fact the meta decks have been so oppressive also adds to that, but that I can't keep up with the cards by any means is terrible. Like I haven't been able to afford a new card with shards in over two months. And I'm only halfway to affording a new one. That's completely insane.

Yeah, Leader immediately reminded me of Cell though I dunno if hes the one who originated it or not. Far top right is that big maths/calculating meme or whatever its called

tbh if you feel oppressed by the meta decks then drop down rankings to 40s/50s. The gameplay is still fun down there.

I would open caches to get calculating Ultron.

What were you doing with your Gold? Token Tuesdays exist to solve this (back when you could actually get Gold)

My enjoyment of the game peaked once I quit caring about ranked. I mean sometimes stuff is still frustrating like annoyingly designed cards (JEAN), but otherwise Im fairly happy. If collecting cards/variants was easier Id be happier, but thats basically the main thing Id improve

Being unable to open a pool 4/5 card from Reserves I have no idea when Ill get the non-pool 3 cards of these since now theyd have to be in Spotlight weeks I care about.

I never spent a cent either. But the nerf of tokens and token tuesday in particular ruined my whole acquisition strategy. I get like 10% as many tokens as 2 months ago.

I buy Season Passes and that's it. Never had any problem with gold or tokens but I am wondering how it'll feel now.

With gold and tokens absolutely wrecked its gonna take so long to get cards or variants through tokens now. I think the entire way of getting up to 5 spotlight caches Ive made like 200 tokens. Got back to back Avatars which was nice

I usually just bought a variant when I liked it with Gold. I haven't spent real life money on this game at all aside from the season passes.

But like others have said, they're starving folks out with Gold and Tokens everywhere else now, so getting the currency is extremely slow. Where getting new cards seemed possible before seems like a long shot. I wanted Jean Grey with all of the Spotlight Caches I saved up and I instead got two repeats and a crappy variant, and no Jean.

But hey, instead you'll get 1/6 of the currency needed for a card if you dupe on the Spotlight Cache. And then you can spend another 3 weeks to get enough levels to get a chance at a new card or 1/6 of a card again.

I don't get where this philosophy changed to starving people out of cards. I went from playing regularly and being at the level of probably missing out on about 5-10 cards at any given time to very obviously missing out on far more than that as time goes on, with no chance to catch up at all. It sucks.

The pendulum is just swinging back from when they were overly generous. It'll swing back yet again in a couple months prob.

I mean a game like this you probably shouldn't get every card. The problem is the fix should be release more things rather than starving the currency. I actually think spotlight caches are a great idea but I like actually having gold and tokens too is the problem.

Create more cards and variants and put the gold/token rewards back to where they were and stuff is probably fine.

I'm realistic in that I probably shouldn't have every card unless I'm whaling. Like yeah, always give people something to work towards. But with how frequently they're adding cards now to how impossibly difficult it is to get any of these cards, it just feels unattainable to keep up with anything.

But we're really killing the Gold so people can't get one of the hundreds on hundreds of cosmetic variants? Why? You'd need an impossible amount of gold even with whaling to get all of these variants.

I have played every day and done all my dailies and then some and I haven't been able to afford a single card with Tokens for months now. And I'm still not even halfway to buying a new one.

How frequently theyre adding cards now? Its been 1 per week since December. That hasnt changed.

For someone who is not Series 3 complete like you, you should be getting 100 Tokens per Spotlight Cache in all the regular Reserves in between

Before Spotlight Caches, if you were S3 Complete you would have been getting on average 500 Tokens every bucket of 4 caches. 300 minimum, 700 maximum.

I dont see how you werent getting enough Tokens to buy something, especially with stuff like Spider Ham debuting at 3000

100 tokens is 1/60 of a new card. That's absurd, given how long it takes to get from one Spotlight Cache to the next.

When you're at the point where you're Series 3 complete, it might be 1 per month. I have gotten one new card all month for the past couple months, not including the Season Pass, and I don't anticipate doing any better as time goes on.

Ive been saving the spotlights, but Reserve wise it depends. Lately Ive gotten like 2-3 Pixel Variants, 2-3 Avatars, 150 credits like 2-3 times and 50-100 tokens rarely. I think I got a title or something too, but nothing really fancy. Most of my tokens I currently have are before the update and the 6k I got from PF BP bundle

You shouldnt be getting 50 Tokens at all until S3 completion. Thats what replaces the S3 cards

Hmm I couldve sworn I got them, but maybe not. It would be nice if it showed what all your Reserves were after opened. I got no credits left at the moment so maybe Ill finally get Bast or Quinjet in my next one

Ultimately, unless you are more than 75% 4/5 complete, this should get you at least as many cards as before, you just lose agency on what those cards are.

If youre under 25% 4/5 completion you should be getting MORE cards than before, just again, less agency

I will say the Weekend mission to get 500 Tokens by winning with Echo felt a little icky because I just happened to get Echo from my one Spotlight Cache for this week.

It probably should be 500 Tokens for winning some matches with any of the 3 Spotlight Cards

Some cards you can't expect everyone to have but tech ones like Echo should be pool 3 ASAP

I love when you face a Destroy deck in Conquest and every match is loaded with locations that favor their deck and are shit for your own

Well if I had to guess Id say Destroy is the next deck to be nerfed because its about all Im seeing now

Yeah and next season will only make it better

To be honest I dont even know what they will nerf. No one particular card feels broken or anything. Its just a deck with lots of synergy where its easy to always play something

I think Venom is the Hit Monkey of Destroy and probably needs to be bumped up to 4 cost if you want to slightly nerf the whole deck at once

With X-23 it might barely even matter though

EDIT: Or maybe make it so that Venom only consumes base power and disregards buffs?

I swear I just faced a bot to win a Gold ticket. They kept playing Wong/Mystique/Gambit against my Nimrod Destroy deck. They basically guaranteed I won every game because Gambit kept destroying Wolverine or Nimrod lol

TIL Multiple Man's copy ability happens at initiative speed, even if moving him happens start of the round(when he's on Phoenix).

My opponent had initiative and played Shang Chi where he was(idk why not on another location), he moved, Shang Chi activated and whiffed, THEN he copied

Won Gold Conquest for the first time ever

Bounce still works. Even beat the vaunted Sera/Surfer/Magik deck

That actually makes sense to me because the opposite does work tbqh

I feel like the game is at the most negative Ive seen it since I downloaded it. People are really unhappy with the spotlight and reserve changes. It at least wouldnt suck so much if you got more credits, but those dry up super fast too

Yeah, I decided I'm so turned off from this game now from a meta and rewards standpoint I'm putting it down for a while. Haven't logged in for dailies in two days now, going on three.

The majority of players will get more cards now than they did before, and the balance change on thursday was one of the most interesting ever so I honestly don't understand the negativity. I guess people can't be bothered to do the math, just like in-game

Burn out my dude.

I was happy with the balance changes but after being beaten down by nonstop Galactus, then High Evo, then Bounce, and then still Bounce, I'm just burned out.

And then tack on that the Spotlight Cache is the absolute shits of a system and I'm just tired.

Pre-series 3 complete the reserves aren't the worst.

After, they are absolute dogshit.

And needing to save four weeks of spotlights just to ensure you get the card you want, because you're going to get worthless variants in the other three, is also some animal's shit.

I started later than everyone else, in the black panther season, and I still burned out on this game

I just got into path of exile so that might be why, but there's def something meta-wise that is drying up the game

Yeah, Spotlight Cache is a lot better if you're someone who doesn't have most of the cards. But I shouldn't be spending three Spotlight Caches getting variants I won't be using just trying to get one card I'd like to have.

At least up the chance to get a card you don't have by more instead of making it all an equal chance for crap.

It probably helps that I mostly only play on the bus to/from work. If I were playing more than an hour/90 minutes a day it might be different.

Im with you. I never get burnt out on this game. Maybe because its my first ever card game?
