What lead to you doing it?
My wife's sister wanted a baby with their female partner, and I said they shouldn't pay for the procedure when I can do it for free, and my joke... was taken deadly seriously, and I felt I couldn't back out.

Who was the person?
My wife's sister (Ellen).

Did they know you were in a relationship?
They were at the wedding, and visited us weeklyso, I hope so.

How long did it go on for?
About 10-12 months.

How were you able to get away with it?
Well, my wife knew before it even occurred. So, there was no 'getting away' with anything.

Did you confess or how did you get caught?
Neither my wife was aware throughout.

How did they take it?
My wife's sister was ecstatic when she was pregnant, and... so was I, my wife didn't want children (and couldn't have her own due to complications) which I respect, but... I, I guess, I always considered it...

Are you still together?
They moved closer, so I could see my daughter more often than weekly, and I see her mostly every day of the week. She's often surprised she has three mommies and one daddy, but most in her school think it was from 'a marriage break-up', from what the teachers tell Ellen.

Did you learn from the experience?

Meh, If it get's to that point. I'd end it with my partner.

For me, at that point, the relationship is not working. I mean, sometimes one can legit start out earnest in the relationship, but have it deteriorate over time. It happens. I'd be honest with my partner. Not fair to them, imo, especially if it's not what they initially wanted.

Kind of feels off to waste their time like that. Or it makes sense to give them an opportunity to find the exact person they are looking for. People don't live forever, time is valuable.

Also, if it was a "moment" of weakness or some such... I'd still be honest about it. And try and make things better. Or I'm not saying, be "no mercy!," every single time. Nobody is perfect after all. imo

I'll be honest here and admit to the fact I've had three actual relationships through my life, and all were long term. Currently 7 years and two others for approximately 5. Not to say there wasn't anything in-between. Being willing to confront problems even if they're ones you cause has been pretty much key to it. Just speaking about problems goes a long way, and then being willing to accept when you either just don't want to be or can't be together any more.

The fact that you won't accept responsibility for your behavior because it's supposed to be "normal" tells me volumes about what kind of relationships you must have.
