Most data preprocessing, nevermind full "analyses", relies on assumptions about the underlying process that generated the data. Not really something you should expect from something like chatGPT.

And like the above poster suggests, who knows exactly what it will simply "make up".

Theoretically this would be a great task for current AI. In practice, not so much because if it can't figure out what it's supposed to be doing it'll just start creating things to fit the narrative it decided on, even if it's completely unrelated.

This kind of work is actually what LLMs excel at. It's less likely to hallucinate since it's given the data it needs to work with rather than needing to figure out information from its training.

Obviously you still want to doublecheck its work, but this is far more in line with what ChatGPT is useful for than something like that idiot lawyer getting it to cite fake legal cases.

Yeah. I don't mean to defend actually using ChatGPT for this, I'm just point out how "legitimate" studies can and will easily reach bullshit conclusions from data, which further demonstrates why it's a bad idea to use AI

I find it weird that people rely on AI to make important documents for them.

Ai should really just be helping with organization and boring routine stuff, like making wokrsheets or forms.
