Trans people can still code switch though, which was my point. Like if someone is non binary, they may prefer they/them in their personal life but more tolerant of cis pronouns at work. They may rather have the people they work directly with regularly use preferred pronouns but not as strict with clients to require it in every email.

Being forced to identify as "TQ+" isn't that different from being forced to identify as "LGB".

Pronouns are already used when people speak to or about other people, so in this scenario, the trans person is going to identifed by some pronoun. Its not really the same as verbal code switching.

I mean that's apparently where I am, I still don't see it being problematic for groups but I have enough typically good posters against it that I'm down to accept I'm wrong.

I dont like the idea of having pronouns in an email signature, Id prefer to put something like Mr. samsungsalt instead, especially considering my name is obviously male, but a companys hr dept always get the last word no matter what so better off keeping your mouth shut and being a yes-man in this case

I'm a teacher and whenever it's the mother's email listed, figuring out how to address them is a pain. I default to Ms. and only once upset the recipient for not using Mrs. It's even worse when it's a gender-neutral name in the Parent/Guardian box. I'll just start the email with "Hi I'm Johnny's teacher" and not even address their name because I don't want to fuck it up. Seriously why would anyone not want it obvious how you want to be addressed.

"Excuse me, how would you like to be addressed?"
"What? How dare you! My pronouns are kiss my ass."
"Ok ass, the meeting will be next Tuesday."
