If they put it on Steam Ill probabky buy it, but probably not otherwise.

I couldnt even play the newer ones as to my knowledge they required the Wii Remote, and I fucking hate that thing.

Only if Donkey Kong can be playable in the sequels.

Rare deliberately omitted him as part of a pissing contest with Nintendo. They wanted to show it was their gameplay and not Nintendo's mascot that was responsible for the success. I mean, they had some fun gameplay -- but I still want to chuck barrels at enemies and pound my chest like a gorilla.

Tropical Freeze doesn't so if you haven't played that one, it's the best

The first game has better animal allies and a better protagonist. (Sorry, Bart Simpson monkey.) The second one definitely has better boss fights though. They're two great games, but I have to give the edge to the first one simply for having D.K. as the protagonist.

I'm in the camp that likes Super Mario World more than Super Mario Bros. 3. But if SMW had starred Toad instead of Mario, I'd be in the SMB3 camp.

This. I'd be fine with a collection of them being released to make them easier to play nowadays (especially since I never bought 3), but I'd personally prefer that they stick to the sprites.

As PraetorXyn said, they proved themselves right. DKC2 was the better game.

Disagree about the animal companions. I dont care about the protagonist. Its a platformer. The most important thing is the level design. DKC2s levels are far better, and the tropical / pirate theme was an excellent touch. Hell, the premise of Diddy having to rescue Donkey even gave it a bit of narrative weight. The secret extra hard levels and secret boss were very well done.

It is IMO the best side scrolling platformer of all time. Im struggling to think of anything I would say is on the same tier.

They should just make more DKC Returns games. Tropical Freeze is better than every game in the DKC trilogy.
