Is stringing together 2,000 words really that hard?

I wouldn't use it. LLMs screw up so much where you'd spend more time going through and fixing it all than actually putting in the work to write your own.

At least if it's an academic essay really all you got to do is to basically read/mentally digest 4-5 relevant books having to do with your subject and more or less regurgitate a singular line of thought that you're trying to get across while essentially borrowing the way you say it from your sources, and just doing the legit sourcing of the material when you're actually quoting a book.

Usually one of the books you're referencing is going to have an argument/line of thought that will be the actual basis for what you're gonna say...and you manipulate (or highlight) the other materials to line up with it.

I wouldn't rely on ChatGPT anymore regarding facts >_>

If you do, make sure you double check everything it references.

There was an article recently, a lawyer was using it for legal references. It gave him completely made up court cases, and he got blasted in court.

Yup, ChatGPT has gradually worsened over time.

As a professor, I say with complete certainty that any teacher worth a damn is going to immediately be able to tell if you use Chat GPT. Also Bard probably.

This is my experience, and my wpm is kinda ass because my hands are a little messed up. Still takes me less time than reading over everything and then having not-quite -right sentences register a little late, or just the random string of actual nonsense showing up that I have to fix.

I could spend like an hour writing most of them or three hours trying to pick out the trash.

I'm just using it for bits and pieces and I'm totally changing it.

How or why would it become worse? I've been using it to assist with certification studies. I double check it frequently and it hasn't been wrong so far as I've seen.

Granted, I'm using GPT-4, and I've used it enough to try and avoid lines of question that I think are likely to confuse it and cause it to start hallucinating.

I personally use 3.5, the devs put on more filters which restricted its capabilities.

I watched the YT video on that. The stupidity every step of the way caused me to both laugh and face palm at the same time.

The vast majority of the info I need from it isn't something that's changed much in 2 years. I'd say that I could just use it's web browsing plugin to have it give me more relevant results, but my experience with it's web browsing has been terrible. Just clicks the first 1 or 2 Bing results and says "fuck it here you go."

I suppose there's probably a prompt out there that would make it actually search the web in a useful way.
