You pay or you see ads. Otherwise you're a leach that contributes nothing to the sustainability of the platform. Honestly I wish they'd be more aggressive with making people get premium.
Cut out advertisers and their ad-friendly-content demands completely. May creators more. Everyone is better off.

If anybody should have to pay it should be the biggest channels who are using YouTube for their business to post their videos.

These people are making millions but Google would rather chase common users away than have them pay some bills.

So how often will ads actually pop up? I'm not a fan of it, but I can handle it in a video or podcast as that's the norm on tv or radio for commercials. However, I draw the line if it's in music while it's playing, as in splitting the song in half, as that never happens on the radio or even on tv in the mtv era.

Droid already is. It's just the OEM packages that have all the googley bits.

Approximately 0.001% or less of the internet even use adblockers. (Dont quote me on the percentage). If everyone with an adblocker stopped using YouTube they would hardly even notice a dip in their viewer stats
