It's amazing that we had 25 years of sex comedies before people woke up and realized that was a bad idea

Because of how much everyone feels afraid to offend someone or another it does feel like there's a loathing of sex and even romance, hell some really think that its best to just go back to arranged marriages because" All love is a sham anyway and in the end that's a more realistic take on what relationships are anyway."

With streaming services not having the usual restriction of most tv services theres no need to save them for movies anymore like some special event.

I imagine a lot of what was funny then would be considered rape and harassment now.

Lots of unnecessary nudity and jokes about voyeurism, tricking women into having sex, etc. Yeah, a lot of those movies are pretty gross in retrospect

Imo the 90s overdid it and it became so lame...(We just survived a plane crash, let's go at it until the first responders get here!)

It's like the writers had to stop the script,just to check a box off the list.

Most are filler anyways

I think sex scenes in most movies were never realistic anyway, (to the point of just being hokey af). No great loss.

I would say it might have to do with zoomers become less intimate, but that would be something we'd expect to be reflected in films 5-10 years down the line, right? I don't think millennials have quite the same problems, do they?

That's so funny you said that. I was watching that movie the other day and was actually very impressed by the intensity of the sex scene in it.

They're usually cringe af to watch

I remember seeing 8 mile in the theater with my mom and that scene with Brittany Murphy and Eminem where they breath heavy for like five minutes was soooo awkward

I remember in Netflix early original shows, almost evert show had to have some unnecessary sex scene, because I guess they get away with it? Even a lot of the Amazon Prime Original Pilots had that as well. Honestly, I'm more of the "get to the point" in terms of plot and many times sex scenes tend to be filler. Rarely do they play a pivotal role. Most of the time it's because it's edgy to have it.

There's thousands of porn movies to make up for it

Yeah, like the "voyeur" scenes in Animal House, Revenge of the Nerds and Porky's.

Sex in movies was always stupid.

But I guess the generation without the internet used it for porn.

Fun fact: I think porn is illegal in South Korea, so they get around it by having really graphic sex scenes in a lot of movies >_>

I imagine a lot of young women were pressured into nudity so it's good they can advocate for themselves

90s kids used to talk about movie sex scenes.

Then the internet existed. Then no one talked about movie sex scenes.

Kinda weird to think about. Like your grandpa probably watched movies to get off....

Besides that one episode, House of Dragons didn't really have that many sex or nude scenes... in comparison to Game of Thrones.

PG-13 brings in more box-office money than R, and there's not a whole hell of a lot of "horny" you can get away with at PG-13 nowadays.

Naw, they do that because it's not illegal to make porn in North Korea. At least not in a broad sense (stuff like rape, pedophilia, etc. are illegal).

It's true. Unless you go by genre. PG-13 rated porn does not make more than the alternatives.

Meh, it's all so toothless now it's hardly worth filming. Meanwhile there's literally *thousands* of hidden exploitation gems from the 70s and 80s, and I'm having a blast finding and watching them.

Just saw the Roger Corman classic Humanoids From the Deep last night, for instance. It's about mutants coming out of the water and, uh, forcibly mating with the women of the town. And it's directed by a woman. A total product of its time that would never be made today, and that's okay.

Hell even Breaking Bad had a topless scene in episode 1 when they were still shopping it around networks
