i suppose I also sort of identified with beanz as a reformed/former Republican, although it was them embracing trumps blatant racism in 2016 that woke me up, not Covid

I know a lot of people here might not have believed her about how bad covid was but that shit killed as many as 40% of the residents in some nursing homes before we really knew what was going. And that was 100% because the Trump administration refused to acknowledge that covid was a problem or even existed in the US. and then it continually failed in educating the population and actually listening to professionals so we could handle the situation. our covid death rates were the worst in the entire developed world if I'm not mistaken?

this country's entire economy and way of life is built on a house of cards that's going to collapse at any moment. all the rich people were so fucking terrified of the economy shutting down for two weeks that we couldn't even stop a global pandemic from escalating out of control. everyone working bullshit ass minimum wage jobs were suddenly "essential employees" who couldn't avoid interacting with dozens of other people per day who were forced to go to work just to keep this stupid economy working, but now when they want to have some basic ass shit like healthcare or their own place to live they're "unskilled labor" all over again

the rich forget that this is a young ass country and countries older than ours have been through many, many, revolutions because of inequality in wealth and life

This is just worthless speculation and not really my business, but I kinda wonder if the trans friend arc was darkroast's transition presented in reverse. Looking on that site, it started as a topic asking if this picture he found looked more masculine or feminine, and he seemed excited when people told him masculine. In retrospect I wonder if it showed his transmasc journey but he led with the after pictures and showed progressively older and more femme ones. That way he could present the subject as a trans woman to get some distance from it so people didn't realize it was him. I like that theory because it means CE being jerks and saying the person looked like a man would actually accidentally be quite affirming for him.

So, in essence, nothing new.

In the times I've interacted with them I've found DR to be a good person who helped me through a very traumatic time in my life.

Cyric is also a good dude with whom I've really only ever had positive interactions.

No one asked for my two cents, but you all get it anyway.

I mean regardless of whatever they may or may not have made up about their personal life here I have no reason to doubt that they were in medicine.

And when I was sick with lymphoma their expertise and explanations of what I was going through were an enormous comfort to me and I'll always be grateful to them for that.

I'll also add that while I didn't know them particularly well personally, from our interactions I don't think they were lying about being trans or anything like that. And since it came up, they definitely had more right wing controversial views originally but that definitely became less of a thing as time wore on.

Again, just my opinion and interactions with them but yeah.

Stupid question. A minority SO is not a pass to be racist.

If they have a verifiable history of being racist then i imagine it should be easy to bring better receipts than a screen saying Ethiopians have nice skin.
