The Boys are doing a concert near me next month and I would love to see them. My so will be out of town the day of the show, and my sister will be at a TSwift concert that same night, so I have no one to go with.

Should I go alone? Ive only been to a concert on my own once in high school, and it wasnt great. Granted, that may have been because I was stood up and ghosted so I felt bad even though I liked the show fine.

have you ever gone to a concert alone?

God only knows.

I dont know if Id go to one alone. Technically I guess I have before, but it was a music festival and I split off to see a band I wanted to see and had fun. But I was also on several substances at the time.

Isn't the current rendition just Mike Love (most hated member) and a bunch of support guys who weren't in the original band

I go to almost every concert alone. It's way better because you can do whatever you want without worrying about others.

I think Bruce is still in it

To answer the topic, why not? I went to a Pere Ubu show last week alone and it was one of the best concerts I've been to.

I've seen The Beach Boys (as said, Mike Love, and Bruce Johnston) and I've also seen Brian Wilson. The Brian Wilson show was a lot better of a celebration of the Beach Boys music.

The Beach Boys show, while I'm glad I went as a big fan, was laughable. It was like Spinal Tap or the Otto Show episode of the Simpsons. Mike Love kept showing off his glitzy rings. They had a bad slideshow in the background that looked they like made it themselves. It looked like they googled 'California Girls' and put up the images. In between, they'd pause on images, like Mike showing us his fancy car. At one point it showed the Vancouver Canucks logo (it was a 3 night sold out show in Nanaimo) and they said 'Go Canucks'! That's why it was just like the goddamn Simpsons episode...woohoo local sports team lmfao....idk it all just felt gross. If you've read any Beach Boys history, Mike Love is so hateable, and it was surprising to me that this came through just in a concert. The guitarist was a more middle-aged/younger guy, he was the 'musical coordinator' apparently. He invited a young lady on stage to put his guitar around her and grind against her from behind.

Brian Wilson show was just a wonderful ensemble of musicians playing their instruments with a lot of talent. I got to hear a bass harmonica! Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin were surprisingly awesome too. Brian's singing is not so great, but everyone really carried him and it was nice to see him so happy. There's a young guy that does a lot of the falsetto stuff, he was the one that played the bass harmonica. It was the Pet Sounds album, but the variety of songs they played beside it was really cool. I was really surprised and stoked to hear Feel Flows.

It might've been my nerdy history of it all crap that spoiled it for me though. I love going to conerts alone. Just be prepared for it to be entirely grey-hairs.
