I had a 2700k in my last computer and it lasted me for 11 years. Gaming really isn't very processor intensive. I'd still recommend upgrading it, but the biggest difference it's gonna make is a faster data bus and DDR5 RAM, the actual clock speeds haven't improved by a large margin in over a decade. --- "I'm the straightest guy on this board. I think I may be capped to lower framerates like the Xbox consoles. I guess I'll see. I'm not fussed. I think it'll be Play Anywhere anyway so I can try out all of them and see. Gaming really isn't very processor intensive. I'd still recommend upgrading it, but the biggest difference it's gonna make is a faster data bus and DDR5 RAM, the actual clock speeds haven't improved by a large margin in over a decade.
