The regular game ending was pretty good, hate this version of doc ock so much now. Wonder why he hasn't spilled the beans on parkey's identity yet.

I don't like the DLC ending, Yuri being a bad guy/vigilante who murders people and hangs them on display? That's straight up sociopathy. Guess it makes sense why she was okay with Spiderman all these years even though he's breaking the law, but it's a far cry going from that to "kill a mob enforcer and wrap him in police tape and hang him on display for spiderman to see"

Not much happened with Hammerhead and Silver Sable and Black Cat after we took down hammer. Maybe they're saving that and Yuri's "administrative leave" for the sequel. I know they're clearly setting up miles morales black spiderman.

Really great game.

That DLC was fucking brutal though. I thought it was just me not having played the game for so long, but I played Miles Morales right after and no, it is just fucking brutal.

I swore at the game more times than I want to count. It's BS. I specifically dodged and the game didn't register it, I'm telling the truth! Some real bullshit moments there.

I didn't even know how I was supposed to fight the hammerhead. Hated that. The first time, I won the fight with like 2 HP left.

How are mafia goons better at fighting than literal private military trained soldiers...

I really like the game, but is there any way in heaven or hell that anyone is getting all the benchmarks? I think personally, what really pisses me off about them is that they give no rewards. Worse, they give a nothing reward, 50-100 measly experience points total when it takes 30,000 experience points to gain a level after level 50. Giving no reward would have been less insulting.

A couple I got naturally through just playing the game, but a lot of them would require straight up grinding.

I like how when it comes to costumes, Spiderman has the opposite problem of the Arkham series. In the Arkham series, all the alternate batman costumes are ugly as sin (especially in that ugly unreal engine graphics) so you don't want to bother with any of them and just stick to the default since at least it fits in the context of the game.

Meanwhile with Spiderman, all the costumes are just so good and amazing you don't know which to choose. I constantly just randomly cycle through each one again and again because they're just so colorful and amazing. Then I return back to the default look, I really like the white logo spiderman idea.

One thing I liked about the dlc is the end credits are longer than the actual dlc itself. They give an option to skip the end credits but I let them run just to see how long it goes, I kinda always let the credits run in games and movies now.

Gonna play Miles before SM2? Miles is pretty good, new mechanics that make it feel lively, and it happens in the winter so you get that gorgeous snowy cityscape. When the blizzard hits it's a 10/10 vibe.

Yeah that was a neat coincidence, by the time I finally got to spiderman in my backlog the sequel is already close to releasing.

I'm gonna play this other game first before jumping right into Miles Morales spiderman. I actually wanted to wait to play it since it'll be my last spidey game for a while until I eventually decide on getting a ps5, but spidey 2 has definitely made me realize that it might be time to get the console and not wait around for a pro design or whatever.

Yeah getting the platinum trophy that was the hardest part. I had to retry a lot of the stealth ones over and over, and weirdly enough those ended up being the ones that were easiest to get top marks on as a result... but yeah, most of the time getting spectacular rank on everything was good enough to get the platinum and I can't imagine perfecting all the challenges.

Yeah Miles is relatively short, but it's still very solid due to the slight gameplay changes. Definitely recommend it if you liked 1 and are planning for 2.

100%d the heck out of the game and its DLC on Ultimate difficulty. Booted up Morales on the same difficulty and for whatever reason just didnt have the patience to max out some of the score challenges .. get into a real self-defeating mindset when Im not playing up to previous skill levels.

I beat the game a few days ago, haven't done the DLC yet. I'm not really sure how I feel. I was never going to love the game I'm just not that greatly into this sort of experience (open world, cinematic). I did mostly have a good time going through it, though. A lot of the time the story was pretty neat, but too often it became very menial. Like after the raft the story kind of stops while you have encounters with famous Spiderman villains because it's a Spiderman game. The Miles Morales insert didn't really fit. Hated the stealth sections. I think the open world aspect was kind of well done and I mostly didn't hate it. The research stations was a low point and I do think they added too many crime encounters after the raft. They time sensitive (sort of) so I felt compelled to do them whenever one happened, which was every 90 seconds. But I really didn't mind dicking around for a backpack or a taskmaster challenge or such. Sometimes the story felt rushed because its sparse to make room for the open world. It did what it could to set up Doc Ock, but I still felt that needed more time and dedication. The ending with him was good, but I feel like the part with May at the end would have been more powerful if Peter had come to the conclusion on his own to do the right thing with the antiserum rather than May coming back up for a last gasp basically telling him the correct answer. But that would lack the sappy human element, I guess.

I think at the end its an experience I enjoyed having, but because of how much it expects the open world to fill your need of gameplay content, it's not one I will want to revisit. I'll play the DLC and Miles Morales (the main game was a DLC for the version of Miles Morales I bought) and eventually I'll probably see about the sequel when the DLC is out, though I'm kind of worried about the split main character duties. Usually those don't go well in my experience.

Not a bad game, but again, probably just not my thing.

I hope Black Cat sits on my face in the DLC.

Yeah, Hammerhead has been in pretty much every single animated adaptation since the 60s. I get him being forgettable as he's generally another mob boss' main mook like Kingpin.
Fun little Hammerhead fact...in the Ultimate universe Gambit defeated him by using his power to charge up Hammerhead's metal skull. Easily top 3 badass Gambit moment

It's implied that despite being corrupted by his neural implant, Octavius still cares deeply for Peter. They had an almost father-son relationship.

Octavius basically knew the entire time, he didn't want to kill Peter or ruin his life. That's why he had the sinister 6 beat the stuffing out of him as a warning, so he could avoid having to kill him if he intervened.

As far as Yuri goes, that's just her arc in the comics too.

Spectacular Spiderman had Tombstone be voiced by Keith David, who is the absolute best, and they basically elevated a C-tier villain to basically be the Kingpin of that show. Was surprised how much more of a C-lister he was before.

Yeah I'm not crazy about Punisher's vigilante type of justice, but she took it a step further. It's the weird relishing in the murders and wrapping them up in police tape all Dexter-like and displaying them so creepily that's just a huuuuuge shift in character from what we've seen.

Just really bothered me that Spidey's one friend on the force ends up being a 180 sociopathic murderer?
