The Titanic happened over 100 years ago. That should tell you all you need to know on that subject.

Vladimir Koromav literally told the government the Soyuz was shit and only opted to go on its suicidal launch because he didn't want his friend, Yuri Gagarin, to die flying it if he declined.

Even if people learned from the past, which they don't, there will always be people crazier than others.

The CEO of OceanGate was a madman and his billionaire passengers made the incorrection assumption that if they were paying a quarter of a million each for a ticket in his "submarine" then that must mean it was built well and was safe.

Probably also thinking that since he'll be there too, that there was no way he would put himself in a situation where he himself might die.

Because they overlooked that he was a madman.

Part of them probably wanted it to fail. The only way they could feel excitement in their lives anymore.

Did no one learn "hindsight is 20/20"?

Countless things that succeeded could've easily gone catastrophically wrong With any major venture, there's risk.

Arv hates that argument because you can use the same logic for anything. Its like telling someone to choose 1 but they choose it all because it makes them feel comfortable

And it went on other trips as well w/o any major incidents.

But this is really a stupid topic, I mean if you are making this comparison then nobody should be Flying, driving cars, skateboarding, etc.

Just like the Concorde, it made thousands of trips but a few crashes caused commercial supersonic flights to take a pause for like what, 20 years now?
