Director calls it the definitive version that is exactly how he always envisioned the movie.

I really doubt just cuts and stuff will fix a movie that's fundamentally flawed as a whole but just curious about it. Anyone seen it?

After hearing someone say the original idea was for Michael corleone and Tom to have a falling out and fight in some way I'm intrigued by the idea.

Godfather 3 is over hated. Its not as good as 1 and 2 but its a solid 8/10

It makes no difference because the movie needed to be cut down, not expanded and remixed.

The only solution would be to cut the entire movie so that it doesn't exist

I'd go 7/10. It's unnecessarily bloated and Sofia Coppola's acting is atrocious but the core of the plot is fine.

The movie is good, the problem is that 1 and 2 are so much better.

I had a class where we watched GF 1 & 2. The film professor recommends Coda as the best way to see it.

Haven't seen it yet, but I know they recut the final scene and I don't like it.

I like how in the original Micheal dies pathetically alone eating an orange, but in Coda they just show him sitting there alone and cut out his death. I get what they were going for, but Micheal slumping over, all alone in a villa in Sicily hits harder with the point how he turned into a monster and lost his family, which is a theme going back to Part II.

It's been too long since I've seen 3. While it was disappointing, I never hated it and it does have some good parts/ideas in it. I like the idea of Micheal dealing with the corruption of the Catholic church including the shady aspects of the Pope's death. I like how Connie went from a spoiled brat into a conniving, murderous mobster like her father and brothers. I like the theme of the old mafia vs the newer generation. Micheal's guilt about Fredo eating him up is great too especially when he confesses to the priest. It all could have been done better.
