Ive run into this issue several times now where Ill be ranting about a non-binary person (either unaware or mistakenly mixing they/them with she/her pronouns within the same story).

99% of the time Im all being corrected regarding someones pronouns, but when Im talking to a group of people about said individual and Im ranting about what they did to me or someone else, I dont think interjecting in the middle if the story to say its they/them, you said she is relevant or the right time to correct.

I know this is probably a very specific thing to deal with, but I live in a super progressive college town (I myself am a progressive) and this situation comes up every now and then. Its just a little overbearing when you basically saying hey this person fucked me over and someone has to butt in to say yeah that person is super shitty for doing that and all, but they go by they/them dont forget it!. Like come on, time and place. Plus they should know I dont have ill intentions to misgender someone.

I can see why you're annoyed they'd seem to make sure to emphasize that in a venting of why you dislike them and explaining how they fucked you over, but especially since you claim you don't misgender people or have ill intentions I don't see why your first instinct wouldn't be to go, "Oh, right, fuck them", that's what I would have said.

Oh, and for clarity, I don't rant about them. I was addressing when I accidentally misgender and am corrected.

No, never. But then again most people I rant about are the old cis white men in our government.

No, ranting about nonbinary peoples is not something I often find myself doing.

Never. But I've had people correct things in a story I was telling. Same thing, doesn't bother me.
