I was just fucking with you.

But yeah its happening because theres only three federal judges that would qualify to take rbe case and her ass has been there five minutes. So she has nothing to do.

Upside is that this area is very blue in terms of jury pool and has a much better track record of convicting politicians. Fucking Dade County would be a terrible place to try this.

When Trump was trying to contest the FBI executing the search warrant, he intentionally filed the lawsuit in the wrong district in hopes of landing Aileen Cannon an it worked. She overstepped her authority and interfered with an ongoing FBI criminal investigation. The 11th circuit court put a stop to it eventually with a pretty blistering ruling against her.

This time it was a random assignment and she was selected.

From what Ive been hearing, she wont have anywhere near as much of a leash to fuck up in the criminal trial because its a CISA case.

They are blocking democrats from appointing judges in Florida

What's really confounding is they got enough democrats to vote for her including Dianne Feinstein, I guess because of the appearance of being more diverse a pick.

Republicans are really fucking up the system with these picks while always having super reddiculous ways to block democrats.

This whole thing is a gift of delay for Trump as Cannon can order this or that evidence be witheld, the DOJ can appeal that, Cannon can make fucked up rules for jury selection, DOJ can appeal that, basically just like before she'll be able to buy Trump some time before she's eventually forced out by the 11th circuit court and the case given to another judge, the odds of that judge being serious about this despite being a republican and willing to help Trump delay this even more remains to be seen, in any case, this is going to take a lot of time. Honestly, this case and others can last for years thanks to Trump and republican stall tactics, I think they're hoping that they can drag it out til Trump wins the primary and they can further politicize it by saying "They're only going after me so they can steal the election for Joe Biden!" which is something the DOJ is absolutely terrified of looking like it's doing so they may just sit on these cases until after Trump loses to Biden and if by some way he wins they'll shelve them until after his 2nd term, I wonder if Trump realizes even if he wins he's only getting another 4 years, the only way he'd manage to get a 3rd term is if he had die hard MAGA republicans in control of congress, the senate and at least 2 more supreme court seats and even then, it's a long shot enough of them would want Trump to stay in the white house til he dies.

Oh and the reason behind Cannon's bullshit is not because she's a Trumper it's because she's using this to show the federalist society that she'll be a loyal supreme court justice who will protect the rich no matter what, as if any of the fuckers up there are any different from her, 8 of them voted to fuck over employees for the sake of business interests with only 1 of them being against it, all of them rejected the possibility of being held to a higher st andard with oversight rules and all of them have secret dealings with rich businessmen and corporations they refuse to talk about, so I don't know if her public appeal to these people will go over well but she sure wants to be able to get on the short list to that power.

It looks like Cannon's not going to recuse herself from the trial with her issuing her first ruling. Not looking forward to hearing from her in the coming weeks and months as she presides over the case. The prosecutor should do whatever it takes to get a different judge.

In the real world, interfering with a federal criminal investigation should land you, you know, in federal prison. You shouldn't get to continue sitting on your cushy judge position. This woman needs to be behind bars.
