Have you?

Topic. Yes. I only really started going to shows and festivals two years ago. I think the first time I crowd surfed was to Taking Back Sunday at Riot Fest two years ago. I've crowd surfed probably 40ish times in total.

Have you?

I've tried it years ago but it's not really my thing. Same goes for pits.

I mostly just like to stand there and drink beer while I watch the band play.

I get that. I'm definitely about the pit life. That festival was also my first time.
Been in a circle maybe 10 times now. Every single time there's always some jagoff(s) that are there specifically to hurt people. I don't get that sentiment, like at all. That being said, every single time there's also been some BIG ass dude that effectively put those people in their place. And, every single time I've ever been knocked down or just drunkenly hot the floor, I've always instantly been helped back up to my feet

Edit: Worth mentioning, me and two other dudes at that festival kept finding eachother in the crowd and circle. Suffice it to say that festival is right up there with favorite music memories.
It would be THE favorite, but man, nothing will ever beat Spring Awakening when Tiesto started his set and seeing thousands of - er- like minded folks swarming towards the stage. THAT is an experience I fully understand very few will have, and I will always cherish

Double Edit: Damn. Forgot to mention the Tiesto song for massive context - Red Lights

Back in the day you'd have to drag me out of the pit, seeing Mudvayne in Peoria (where they're from) just as they were making it big was one of the best concert experiences of my life.

But to answer the question, crowd surfed a few times... It was fun but not something I'm in a rush to ever do again

Lmao. I remember being apprehensive about crowd surfing because I couldn't think of how it like, ended. First time I nutted up and asked to go up, I remember very vividly having an 'oh shit what tf now?! How do I get down?!' and just surrendering to it.
First time security at the gate ushered the surf to the edge
