Amy Schumer is talking Barbie.

If you didnt know, the 42-year-old comedian and actress was originally cast as the titular role in the live-action when Sony was developing the project, but in 2017, it was revealed she had dropped out of the project.

At the time, Amy cited scheduling conflicts as to why she dropped out, but later said, They definitely didnt want to do it the way I wanted to do it.

While appearing on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday night (June 8), Amy further explained why she dropped out of the movie.

I cant wait to see the movie, I think it looks awesome, Amy started.

I think we said it was scheduling conflicts, thats what we said. But yeah, it really was just creative differences, Amy went on to explain. But you know what, theres a new team behind it, and it looks like its very feminist and cool so I will be seeing the movie.

Host Andy Cohen then questioned if the original version of the movie didnt feel feminist and cool, Amy shrugged and said, Yeah.

If she had agreed to the roll and tried strong arming changes after filming had started, then yeah, thats bad.

But it sounds like she was requesting changes prior to signing. Thats fair. Youre allowed to ask for concessions before taking a job. Same as when someone interviews for a position and says they want an extra amount of money or more vacation time than what is being offered.

In all honesty, that's what made me originally interested: it seemed like it bucked the idea of what a conventional "Barbie" movie should be.

Easy, Sam Raimi wanted his movie focusing on Sandman and New Goblin/Hobgoblin and only put the Venom symbiote in the movie because Sony strong armed him into doing it, so he put the least amount of effort possible into this new storyline he didn't give a shit about that threw a wrench into the storyline he did care about, this as a result would also include casting Eddie Brock, and so we have Topher Grace as Eddie.

It was real. I remember when it was announced. I think the Amy version was a totally different movie than what they ended up making

Probably would have had a lot of jokes about Amy Barbie being fat and it's probably why she would have left Barbie Land
