If they had started it when the Crash/Spyro remakes were selling gangbusters then it would be absolutely understandable to cash in on that 32-bit platformer nostalgia. Hell, if they'd started it when Ty and Kao were getting remakes announced then there would be a certain "the barrel is starting to be scraped, best get in while we'd look decent in comparison" logic. But I feel like they not only missed the boat on this, but the lifeboat as well. It was a bang average game probably most memorable for having rounded edges on the platforms at a time when gameplay/hardware mechanics would still make that pretty frustrating. It wasn't bad but it was definitely riding in the wake of better franchises.
