If Politics boards keep getting taken down?

Nuke CE and Religion, the last two mega-bastions of politics.

Nuke the Conservative leaning community boards too like you did with Realpolitik.

Yes, but the response we were given when we asked about 261 was that political discussions are the problem. You can have a discussion in a topic, it doesn't take a whole board.

But, just in case anyone said something like that, it's why I mentioned the Religion board in my above post. You can blow smoke all you want, but at this point and at any specified point in history Religion and Politics are intrinsically connect. You can't discuss one without triggering a discussion on the other.

A lot of people that used to use this site for purely entertainment purposes, like talking about videogames, have now grown up and take interest in things more relevant to the real world. Forums are great in that you can express your views with anonymity and get others' stances on them without having any real blowback to your personal life. Whenever people (here, the corporate powers that be) try to silence a broad range of discussion, I have to question their motives. It's probably because they see it as a threat to profits in some way, but I see them as a threat to ongoing civil discourse.

This really isn't that hard of a concept.

Fandom doesn't like boards built around political discussion. As in boards where politics are the purpose of the board. This obviously includes 261. It also clearly applies to political community boards. I can't speak to Fandom's decisions but I would anticipate that other political community boards are on the chopping block as well.

Political discussion itself isn't blanket banned though. You can still talk about political issues and events on general social boards like CE.

I still have my own questions.

Is it a liability thing? Do they think they're going to be hosting the next alt-right jerkoff fest that results in another January 6? Do they think people here are the left version of that? Are they too lazy or incompetent to moderate things on an individual basis and think the optimal solution is to cut off certain kinds of discussion altogether? I'm feeling inclined to assume the answer is "yes" to a large to degree for a lot of these.

Knowing that CE exists doesnt mean that he knows about the politics flair or that CE got a lot of political topics.

Boards that discuss multiple subjects including politics would still be considered political boards. Even if their focus isn't politics.
