No shade on the russo's they made the best 2 avengers movies and my favorite 2 comic book movies of all time.

That said upon rewatching Age of Ultron, Whedon did better with the more powerful characters like vision and hulk

In civil war all vision does is cook, float around in a fight where he could easily subdue everyone and then shoot the wrong person

In infinity war he is stabbed right away and just limps the whole movie

Hulk is beat up right away by thanos in a sweep that is too one sided. Then hes scared the whole movie. Later he becomes professor hulk and then loses use of an arm

Even captain marvel is written out for a whole movie

Russo's seemed to struggle with the more powerful characters

Age of ultron hulk and vision got to show off their usefulness in fights against the ultron bots

Under Joss Whedon, Hulk was featured prominently and Captain America was lousy.
Under the Russos, pretty much the inverse was true.

O most everyone else is the same if not better under the russos, especially Cap

It's not too bad to equalize the character importance the way they did, with the amount they were dealing with.

Id add in Captain Marvel. I think their answer to any character that was overpowered to just quickly and quietly write them out of the movie

Characters being forced to job or just written out of the story because of how powerful they are is always disappointing. Dr. Strange being on water duty during the climax of the MCU sucked, and in the DCAU I'm bothered that Amazo was just badly written out of existence.

I'll forgive them on dr strange because the russos did the best with dr strange of all of the directors in infinity war.

We're leaving out Fat Thor?

Eh, the Russos deserve a limited amount of blame. They're not the screenwriters or Feige.

Especially because he got a brand new suit that you saw for maybe a total of five seconds.

I think I know what they were going for with Hulk. One of the moments in Thor Ragnarok that got Hulk to trust Thor was when Thor told him "You're right, Earth does hate you." He went from a planet that adored him, to one where he's hated. And after being humbled by Thanos he just didn't want to deal with being hated by the people of Earth.

Sure, it's stupid, but he's very childish at that point. He wanted to be the best and liked, and at the point where infinity war happens he was neither and refused to cooperate. At least, that's my headcanon for him.

No real excuse for vision, unless Wanda was manipulating the probability to hinder him.

I don't know why people want this? You think Hulk actually would have won it looked better in a rematch? Thanos has always made the Hulk his bitch, even in the comics.

Not scared. He was refusing to fight because he was done being treated like a weapon rather than an individual. The other Avengers even kept calling him "Bruce Banner" when Hulk was on the field because they viewed him not as his own hulk, but merely his human side's superpower. Banner asking if Hulk was "scared" was essentially him trying to goad Hulk into getting angry enough to come out and fight, not a declaration of fact.

Did anyone watch the deleted scene in IW where smart Hulk talked to Black Widow?

This one might have been a marketing decision according to rumors reported on by The Hollywood Reporter. Marvel had already prepared for the possibility that the Captain Marvel movie might not be as big a success as they had expected, so they cut down on her appearance in the movie. If her movie had been a hit, they would have added more scenes with her in action.

That's always been a problem when writing superhero teams. What to do with characters so powerful, they could really take on the villain by themselves making the other members useless. DCAU had that same problem with Superman and Martian Manhunter in the Justice League cartoon.

And Vince Russo had no idea what to do with WCW.

Fixed her accent a bit, she looked powerful in a few scenes but also didnt always get written out

Russo knew what to do with Hulk but then he called him bald and that kind of threw things off the rails.
