It makes sense if you think about it.

  1. If you really wanted to ban it, now would be the time to do so.
  2. And Democrats cant exactly come out against the idea. Because then the GOP could call them the party of porn and handouts. And then go ranting and raving about how January 6th is nothing compared to what the democrats allow their followers to get away with. And that message would resonate, especially if the student loan thing gets struck down and the democrats are forced to cut spending.
And if you get those two ideas across, no one will give a shit when the taxes on the poor and middle class are raised.

The media they've come to rely on as the only source of accurate information has been indoctrinating them with alternate reality/facts propaganda and hatred for targeted groups for decades now.

That's why the regular, common person Republican is like this. As for the ones in office, most are just performative and trying to appeal to the most extreme part of their base because that's become the deciding factor in elections so they sacrifice moderates in favor for the extremists, knowing the moderates will usually just vote for them anyways.

Having said that, they've actually been going after porn for decades, most of them just lost their steam cause they realize it's a lost battle. Greene is...not very insightful on what winning issues are nationwide because she's in a district she wouldn't lose even if she pulled out an AR-15 and gunned down a ton of her constituents at a rally.
