I have relatives in a rural place (Ohio) and when I visit I check the local news. It seems like in rural places, people fight/kill over a wrong word/look/social media post. In a big city, there's gotta be money or property involved. Just an observation. YMMV.

I have relatives on my mom's side that live in a rural part of a developing country. They believe in a bunch of superstition like witch doctors. They actually sought one for advice during the covid pandemic. Guess a few of them got pretty sick during that time. The Witch doctor claimed a lady working at a small candy shop was cursing them (i know the lady too she lived less than 100 meters away from my grand parents house; she moved after this incident). So out of paranoia my granduncle nearly killed her with a gun. Fortunately he missed all his shots. He's in jail now lol.

Anyways this story was shocking to me. Didnt realize my family members are pretty crazy on both my mom and dad's side. My dad side actually did have a murderer but he died from a heart attack recently. I thought they were nice people when I was a kid

*edit i got some details wrong/misremembered earlier. My granduncle actually committed suicide by accident. He didn't miss his shots. The gun he was using jammed. when the cops went to apprehend him he tried to lie about knowingly using a broken gun. To prove this he pointed the barrel at his head and fired. Except it actually fired that time.. Kind of crazy imo. I know this prob sounds unbelievable tho

This guy was my grandfather's brother.

There's actually a ton to do in rural areas, but it's more of the kind that you have to do for yourself, not have put together and done for you. That said, those tons of things to do in rural areas aren't for everyone, so the people they aren't for that still live there turn to stupid stuff like drugs, promiscuity, and such.

I've always enjoyed things like hiking, camping, building things, designing things, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, arts and crafts, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, target shooting/trap shooting/skeet shooting, taking care of wild animals, landscape work, biking, rollerblading, lawn games, board games, sledding, snowboarding, snowshoeing, card games, playing sports in a large yard as well as solo activities like video games, playing/making music, writing, reading, drawing, painting, and more.

So, I've really been able to enjoy life and keep busy pretty much wherever I am, regardless of rural, suburban, or urban. I actually somewhat pity those who can't seemingly make their own fun/enjoyment without having to be super reliant on others or needing a mind-altering substances.

Theres only 4 things to do in rural areas: fight, fuck, do drugs, and a fourth I cant say.

I find that extremely sad that that's all people can think to do in rural areas. That just screams to me that they have no imagination, no desire to actually do anything.

There is ton of wilderness around you in rural areas... Enjoy it. Use it to your advantage to have fun with. Climb trees. Go swimming in a river/lake. Go exploring. Go hiking. Go mountain biking. Go ATVing. Build things. You have all that space. You could quite literally do something like build your own personal mini putt course. Heck, a farm near my parents' house converted its unused fields into a personal golf course that they later opened to the public. It's not amazing, but it's theirs and they can go golfing whenever they like. If they don't like a feature or layout, they can hop on a tractor/lawnmower and change it. There's all kinds of activities that can be done, I feel.

Texan here and there's this long stretch between here and another town I regularly go to where every other ranch you pass is like that. And I suspect most of the ones without the signs support him too but just aren't the kind to go through the trouble with the signs.

How is that an endgame? Maybe I am misunderstanding your use of the term "endgame" previously? I'm asking what you are building up your life to be, what you want out of life. I assume that's what you meant when asking what these people with 3-5 babies' "endgame" is. If I am incorrect in my assumption, then would you mind clarifying?

yeeeep.
A lot of rural places don't really have anything real in the way of prospects, so why not just get high and fuck? In my country we have a program where in certain rural areas, every woman over the age of 15 get offered a p-staff or an iud free of charge, simply to try to mitigate teen pregnancies.

The idea that cities are the home of vice and degradation is absolutely not based on reality. You show me a town with a population of less than 50,000 and I guarantee you, I'll be able to show you more drug abuse, rape, violence, physical and mental abuse and grooming than you'll find in New York or LA.

Obviously, companies will invest more in the infrastructure of a region with higher density of population (because more customers.. aka urban settings) than less densely populated areas (aka rural).

Bruh, don't even get me started on how shitty our infrastructure is when it comes to rural broadband access. In many areas the best you can get is a Hughesnet installation for a fraction of the service at thrice the price (and it's not just the piss-poor speed; pathetically-low data caps are what hamstring you the most).

I haven't been in that kind of living situation since 2018, but I highly doubt things have wildly improved since then.
