In an absolute blowout victory, Super Mario Bros takes it over Tetris in a crushing score of 92-39!

Congratulations to our winner! Absolutely well deserved. I was rooting for FF7 but I think Mario is a better pick for the crown objectively.

I think the main miss for this contest was not including Dragon Quest, probably over Half Life or something. But it is what it is. The no complaining rule is officially disbanded so let me know if you think there's any other changes that should've been made

Some of the choices were kinda weird. Vice City over GTA 3 was strange because GTA 3 was the one that revolutionized sandbox games. Vice City just improved upon it. And LttP over original LoZ doesnt make sense to me either because its also basically an improvement, not a revolution.

I think the list would have benefitted from more genre defining/creating games as well. Like maybe Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter 2 for fighting, NBA Jam and WWF No Mercy for sports, Goldeneye for console FPS, Galaga and Space Invaders for shooters, etc.

Crash Bandicoot and Halo may be good inclusions as well, marking Sony and Microsoft entering the console wars.

i'm still salty Super Mario World got booted just for WoW to get eliminated immediately

A bunch of very questionable inclusions but I think they were all out by the top 3, and SMB is absolutely the right winner.

I probably would have Mario 64 first and og Mario second, so pretty good results for me. Tetris is of course legendary, so that's a worthy runner-up.

everything here is 10/10 for me except Dark Souls, which I still have respect for

overall it's a great list, the only minor change I would make is Sonic 2 over original. gotta have that spin dash.
