Pokemon is an actual series you can make fun of the fans for being consooomers.

They make these awful and bad games that people shell out 60 dollars for.

Brand power is very strong. People see the word Pokmon and buy it, even if its an empty cardboard box.

The people online rightfully complaining about the state the series is in only represents a tiny fraction of the full fanbase/playerbase, most of whom don't know, don't care, and/or are actual children (the target demographic).

Plus, as a post below this alluded to, the vast, vast majority of its revenue comes from merchandise, with video games only making a fraction of that in comparison. The games basically exist at this point just to introduce new Pokemon and concepts to the series so that merchandise can be sold.

Also, it's not just Game Freak. Niantic's handling of Pokemon GO has been pretty bad as well, despite GO being by far the most profitable Pokemon game yet.

Though above all, Pokemon just grew into a monster (no pun intended) that no one is truly equipped to properly handle. Though it would probably greatly benefit quality wise, if Nintendo had more direct control.

Its inexcusable that they would even release the game without home being ready. Part of why I didnt even try S/V is because they left me hanging too long on BW2.

Because the merchandise has long since eclipsed the games in terms of profitability.

At this point, Gamefreak is getting paid to design new plushies and teeshirts and I guess a game too if they have time.

Gamefreak should just be a monster designer for the franchise and let real game developer do their games.

Because it's made for children and frequently bought by parents and relatives who don't care about shit like quality control or good businsess practices

Can I move Pokemon from Home to Arceus right now to complete my Pokedex? There are a couple Mons I have yet to find and I don't feel like searching for them
